This is an east coast number. When I called back, the operater recording said I reached a non-working number. Translated means solicitation of some sort.

They keep calling. I never take the call and they never leave a message. I'm tired of getting unwanted calls. I'm on the Do Not Call list but it doesn't stop them or all the others.

It stops what it was meant to, not EVERY unwanted call as many seem to be under the notion it will.

WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are   B I G   credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever! It would be wise to block the ENTIRE '728 area code', as it doesn't exist- it is spoofed, and ONLY USED BY SCAMMERS.

This is the 2nd time I have received a call on my cell phone from these people.  I never answer a call from a number I don't recognize.  They did not leave a message.  I am glad I came here and found out it is a scam organization.

This is the third 728 area code number I've received. It's been "Hi, this is Lisa from credit card services". I shouldn't even answer the 728 area codes as was suggested.

Guys, get a clue. The DNC registry is meant to stop LEGAL solicitations to numbers that don't want them. No criminal or scammer has any interest in your registration on the list. Get over it and just be smart.

If you search "where is area code 728" you will find that others are correct, this number is not in use as an area code.  That means that anytime this area code shows up on your phone, the caller is NOT a legitimate business or entity, but a scammer - likely looking to pry personal info out of you such as your SSN or credit card numbers.  Block this fake area  code if you can.

The card service scammers   WILL   'service' our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will be charged a MINIMUM of $795.00, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!

I answered the call, even though I knew they were scam artists, as I've had many calls from them before. I got a recorded message that told me to hold on the line if I was interested in getting a low interest rate on my credit card. I usually hang up at this point, but this time I felt a little playful. The guy picked up, and said that it looks like I have a credit card balance over $2,000. I said that I would not give out that information, and if they were legitimate, they would already know my balance. The guy said F*** you and hung up. I'm guess that he wasn't really from my credit card company. I feel bad, because I should have strung him on longer and made him spend more time with me and less time with a potential victim.

Got a call from this number.  Applied for a job with the State of Texas on line this morning and I have already received two calls.  Nothing is safe.  I won't be applying for anything on line again.  Sick of this crap.  Can't even have a phone without this leeches trying to destroy your life.
And as they say above the reason it doesn't do any good to register is because these fake callers and others don't belong on the National list.  We just have to be smart.  I don't answer a phone call I don't recognize.  And then I go to the internet to see if there are any comments about it.

It is virtually impossible to block these call because it's a different area code and number each time! Area code 728 was today's call, but last week the area codes were in my own state of Maryland. I actually did get them to stop at one point for about a year...when I pressed the number to speak with a representative, they asked me about my credit card and I told them that I didn't have one. They honestly seemed shocked!! They ran down the list of card types (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and each one I told them I didn't have one! I truly think it worked because I didn't get another call from them until recently.
