Random call from this number. Seemed to be a phishing scheme proposing to offer better credit-card rates. (I do not own a credit card.) Do not trust these callers.

They called me thru a auto dialer, gives you a option to press 1 to speak to a person.  They said the name of the company was "Account Services for Visa and Mastercard".  I got very belligerent with them and they hung up.

May as well systematically jack with these [***].  Maybe consider it your patriotic duty to keep them on the line as long as possible so as to run interference for your fellow Americans and keep them from getting scammed.

Rachel of Credit Card Services is the FTC's enemy number one; wow!  200,000 fricken complaints each month.  Imagine how much those cost to process.  They have scammed our fellow Americans out of $30 million dollars.  We can send a man to the moon, but we can't burn Rachel at the stake?!  Gimme a break!

So here's my drill for these CCS turkeys who call incessantly.  (Even refraining from answering calls from numbers I don't recognize FOR FOUR MONTHS, didn't make them stop.)  So now I follow these steps:

    1.  Play along, acting like an interested prospect giving them fictitious data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers.

    2.  I am oh-so patient, even dutiful, as I respectfully repeat myself and make a point of speaking slowly and clearly since these scammers aren't so sharp.

    3.  Upon request, I give them my credit card company's real telephone number so that they can waste their time calling while I hold.  Inevitably they come back on the line and want to review the info I've given them.

    4.  Sometimes I give them the same credit card info with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to call my credit card company yet a second time.

    5.  Then I let 'em have it (and this is the FUN part).  When they say that my info didn't work, I respond, "Well maybe that's because H-O-O-O-O-O-N-N-N-K-K-K-K [from my air horn; and I've nearly exhausted three of those bad boys] you've been PRANKED!  So please call back tomorrow if you want more bullshot.  Eat shot and die, you predatory human garbage!"

It is SO FUN to switch to my crazy-azzed Mr. Hyde after so convincingly portraying Dr. Jekyll.  Incidentally, if you get really lucky you might even persuade them to give you a REAL number at which to call them back.  Then please post it here so that the rest of us harassees can call them ad naseum.

I answered this and they wouldn't speak to me.

Here's how I normally handle these dirtbags:
I am a part-time soccer referee, so I always have a really loud whistle relatively close. I stall them as long as I can, give them an old, long-canceled card number and fictitious name and the actual 800-number from any card I have handy. When they come back on the line to confirm the information I keep talking softer and softer until they can barely here me. Then I tell them I'll read the number again, then I BLAST them with the whistle and hang up.

Got a call from "Rachel at Cardholder Services" again. They haven't bothered me for a long time until last week, looks like they're back again. I'm adding this one to my block list.

I am so excited for the day these roaches will be exposed, brought into the light, and eliminated. It will be days of celebration followed by nights with bonfires containing very special material.
What a beautiful future, to be free of those that harass and victimize us. We will be free and they will be no more.

I got a call from this number. Pressed 1 to speak with an associate. Asked them to remove me from their list. The "lady" repeatedly asked me to give her my credit card number for verification. I did not. When I asked if she thought it was a good idea for me to give random callers my credit card number over the phone, she hung up.
