Automated Energy co. Telemarketer - same number within 2 days, different area code - one day it was 973-147-8799, today 732-147-8799.

We get the call daily.  No recording, just silence, then a disconnect.   When we try to call it back, we get the circuits busy signal.   Verizon, our service provider won't offer any help saying Call Block is not available in our area.  What area do you have to live in for it to be available???  If I can locate the owning company or person, I will press charges.

Get Phone Power, it is $15 a month and you can block these pests!

As an energy consultant, I purposely took the time out and waited for the representative to finally pick up the phone----after being told I'm caller #2!  HAHA!  They called me and I'm waiting as caller #2!!!  The representative wouldn't tell me where she was calling from (for security reasons hahaha) yet she wanted MY account number and other personal information in order to tell me "what discount energy program" I'd be eligible for.  I asked her what companies she represented and she said I'd have to give her my info in order to find out.  I persisted.  I asked her if Ambit Energy ever comes up in her list of discount energy providers and she said no.  I thought that was strange, as Ambit Energy has the best discount rate up to and including FREE.  I told her that if Ambit wasn't on her menu then they weren't offering customers the opportunity to receive the best energy rates!!! At that point, she insisted she had to take other calls.  I can only vouch for Ambit Energy when I state that we do not canvass/cold call for business.  There are many companies who do, however and they've been consistent with providing their names and locations when asked.  I'd venture as far as believing that the callers from this number are scamming unsuspecting people into giving them their account information and then duping them some how.  You want discount energy? I called Optimum and had the number blocked on Thursday.  On Friday night I got 2 more calls from this number.  I called Optimum back and they told me that the number was blocked but these people are using  a "dummy" number to get around what their real number is, so the call couldn't be blocked. When I call the number back, it is a disconnected number.  Optimum couldn't offer any advice.

They called a few minutes ago. I've picked it up before and it's just silence.. I didn't bother picking up this time, and they left no message.
