Called but hung up as soon as answered

Called concerning student loan consolidation.  Requested information such as when started/finished school, how much owed.  Would send packet of information but required 2 references.  Asked also for student ID # which I didn't know.  Rep said "It probably starts the same as you social security number.  I didn't give any further information at this time.

These are the same people who have many different phone numbers they call from. Here's the info on them from another #'s board. Same bastards:

You CAN get in touch with people there! Just call back the number and when you get the answering machine, dial *9

It will then tell you to put in the first few letters of the person's name to be connected. If you just hit the #2 it will run through a long list of the people/companies/departments that this phone number is associated with. Here is a very small list of what I could type while listening through the list the first time. There are many others. Within legal limits, you can then bug the sh*t out of them as much as they've bugged you.

Thank you for the info. I think they're a chiropractic telemarketing company that uses a sham "student loan" division to fall into the "non-profit" category so they think they can call anyone at any time of the day or night and not be held accountable. Their toll-free number is listed below. If you look up "Metro Marketing" on the internet, you can also find complaints about their lending services and scams.

These dirty swine keep changing their caller-ID so their irritating spam calls can't be blocked. These criminals need to be arrested and thrown in jail. Can law enforcement kindly prosecute these pests and give them the long prison sentence that they deserve!

They call 3 or 4 times a day! When I answer, sometimes they hang up..Today she said she was calling from a chiropractic office! I asked to be taken off the last and she said sure and hung up on me! They have called before saying they are from a doctors group and many other things! Good thing for caller ID!

I get calls from this number too and no matter if I get pissed off at them or not they still call They hang up because it is me answering and they know what I am going to tell them  ...What part of stupid or not interested does THE DOCTORS GROUP not understand...Somthing better be done about it or there will be a problem...

THEY STARTED CALLING 5/06 -  THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE - THEY SKIP A FEW DAYS THEN CALL EVERY DAY - LAST CALLED 5/15  --

That 800# listed above works, and points to the same group of people you can get by using the *9 trick that Farkas pointed out. I recommend that everyone call that number as often as possible to let them know what you think of their marketing technique. I've left a message telling them to add me to their DNC list, but if they call me again, I plan on advising Dr. Allen Marcus just what I think of his company. Several Times. I have no idea who Dr. Allen Marcus is, but anyone shady enough to have gone to medical school and then go to work for a telemarketer deserves my wrath.

Also be sure that your phone number is listed with the federal DNC list at https://www.donotcall.gov/. If they call you again after you have been registered for 31 days, it is an $11,000 fine. I was registered previously, so I've filed a complaint. We'll see what happens, but the more complaints are filed, the more likely that they will be fined.

Received multiple calls in the last few days - each time from a different number, but same caller ID and area code/prefix.  Every time I answer they hang up.  Called back the first time and left a message that I've been on the DNC registry and if they call again, I'll report them (also told them they were rude, obnoxious and inconsiderate to hang up every time I answer!).  Received 3 more calls after that.  Obviously, they don't care!
