Caller identified saying he was "officer Jason Smith" from the Fraud Dept.. said my identification was stolen and then my name had come up in some fraud dealings and that I should call him asap to sort these stolen identity, etc..

I received a call stating that it was officer "John Brice" from Crime Investigation Department and that a legal action was taken against me.  When I returned the phone call, it went to a phone that was not accepting any voicemails.  Must be a scam and should be reported ASAP!

Somebody called officer John Cruise said they were calling from fraud department. When I probed more and insisted that they send me mail and don't call he/she (?) said they will send arrest warrant. I think its a fraud.

I received a call from John Wright from Crime Fraud Department and that a legal action taken against me and that I owe $3186.  If not paid, I will be arrested.  I went to Fairfax County Police Department and found out that it is fraud.  Police Department said that Tax collector do not call this way and that going to Walmart and pay by Western Union.  This is Scum.

It seems like there have been tons of calls from this number today. This is most certainly a scam. The person said he is some officer and has an arrest warrant. After I did not budge on giving anything, he started cursing in hindi. I hope these scammers get major jail time.

This time John Rice changed his phone number. Not only that but he is brave enough to leave this phone number for me to call back. The usual threat is about 3 legal affidavits is in the hands of crime division, and legal proceedings will be taken if not settled. The usual fear tactics will make a weak minded person to charge
whatever the amount he says on a credit card and if that person has high limit on that card he will start charging more on that. LET US ALL MAKE A CONCERTED EFFORT TO CATCH THIS GUY AND PUT HIM BEHIND BARS.

Received call from officer George Sylvester, Crime Investigation Dept. He said there are 3 pending legal actions from IRS regarding unpaid 2011 taxes, and threatened that passport will be confiscated, citizenship will be revoked, will be arrested. Asked him where his unit was located. After some pause he gave his address as 38 Hemlock St., Belford, NJ 07718. Asked him if he could give more detailed breakdown on the unpaid taxes, at which point he got angry and hung up.

I also received a call from this number today and when I told him to give some information about the organization, he said that they are investigating me on behalf of IRS and I when said that IRS never calls people like this, he got angry and threatened me with cancellation of my citizenship etc.

More or less the same as the other people. This time, it's Mike Johnson calling about three legal cases. Has a n odd accent and there's a lot of background noise that comes from a crowded room with a lot of conversations in the background.  I'm ignoring it.

Officer John Kurt called and left a voice mail. Lot of background noise. If it is some legal action I am sure they will send notices. Looks like fraud to me. I am ignoring it.

Guy called saying his name was Officer John _____ and insisted to speak to me. When I said he's not in and refused to tell me what business he had with me, he threatened to send someone to my office. This is clearly a SCAM.

Same scam as others hav mentioned. I got a call from this number. Guy claiming that he was calling from the 'Fraud Department'. He said that I'd be arrested within a couple of hours. No reason given. When I probed a little more he hung up saying he couldn't hear me.

Definitely a SCAM.

officer 'rick williams' called from this number just now (04/03/2013).  i am married to an indian who does not take phone calls unless his secretary approves.  i returned the call and when i asked questions and would not answer them (my husband has never been to NJ and they didn't use his legal name) they threatened to have me behind bars in 30 mins.  i called back to verify name of company (data investigations) and their tax ID.  they hung up on me at the tax ID #.

Claims to be from the Crime Investigations Dept.  Officer McWilliams. "You have 3 federal charges against you. If you do not call me back I begin my legal action against your ID."

(Strong Hindi accent.)

I received the same call today 4/3/2013. Like the Nigerian internet fraud, this one is a Indian telephone fraud. The phone numbers involved are: 1-732-399-9401 and 1-412-203-0114. These scammers are Gujurati Indians who preying upon the Indian community living here in the USA. They threaten to get you arrested, US citizenship/passport revoked, etc. if you don't pay the IRS debt which they claim you owe.

Upon receiving the call. I googled the ph# first, did my investigation then returned their call. As the scammer read my "charges" which he claimed was being recorded, I played the game with them pretending to agree with the claims in order to learn more about what they are doing and how they operate. My conclusion: THIS IS A 100% SCAM by INDIANS on the INDIAN COMMUNITY in USA.

Wow! Also got a call from this # about 5 minutes ago. Same message everyone else is getting. Definitely has to be a scam. We should all report this to the New Jersey Police Department and see if they can do something about it.

I got call this morning with same message.

I got a call from this number "Officer John Rice" stating i have 3 legal charges filed against me with 1st degree by IRA. If i dont accept the charges then my information in their system will be updated and within half hour an office from will put me behind bars.
Please be aware of this kind of caller and dont be afraid of this kind of call...

I was left several messages by these a**holes telling me that I am going to be sued.  Last phone called was 732-399-9401.  The "Crimes Investigation Department" person apparently is in with Homeland Security, IRS, local police and FBI.  Apparently he has authority to willy nilly revoke citizenships, collect taxes and have people in jail within 30 minutes.  

Wish there was a way to pay back these [***] clowns with a dose of their medicine.  Hiding behind the veil of anonymous phone calls.  But don't worry, someone might get ticked off enough to set them straight.
