Mabe this is a new number for a telemarketer.

I called the number back, and it belonged to some company named Marketing plus.  They were calling to try to sell me the newspaper.  When you call the number, if you leave a message just indicateing your phone number, they will, supposedly, remove you from their calling list.

Called on the morning of August 5, 2008.  They asked for the lady of the house.  I asked them to hold on, please- and then left the phone.
They have called five times since then .  We are listed on the national do not call list but still these phone calls persist.

first call i didnt answer. Next day, second call, a male on the other end asked " Is this " and my last name, and i hung up. Next day i got another call which i didnt answer.

Just got a call from this number last night. Didn't answer then they called again when I was sleeping this morning. When I answered I didn't recognize voice so I hung up. Weird that I'm not the only one.

I called back the number and got an answering machine. It's saying "Marketing Plus"

I got this call twice lately.  I found this message on another board and I think it's the right answer.  I live in CT but briefly subscription to the Asbury Park Press so it's likely they're trying to get me to resubscribe.

I answered the call 11/1, said I subscribed at one time to the Courier News, which was not true.  they called again today, did not leave a message

They called me in the afternoon. I answered. It was the Asbury Park Press trying to sell me their newspaper. I clearly said I was not interested. When they tried to argue, I simply hung up on them. Then these morons called back at 8:30 p.m. (too damn late in my opinion) & we didn't answer the phone. If they keep it up, they're gonna get an earful. We are on the Do Not Call List. GrRrRr...

it was marketing plus....  a telemarketing outfit for various print publications

this company is very professional and when i called they were eager to help.they understood my sitution and immediatly removed my number from there calling list. i have not been called since, the gentlemen was so nice i even took the newspaper offer.!!!! there willingness to help was most impressive,when i was done with the call i realized "there not so bad afterall " i thought this needed to be mentioned.

Receive calls each morning from 732 694 1023.  They don't leave a message and when I try to call the number back - get  a   busy.   There should be a penalty for these unwanted, unannounced calls.  Will suggest it to telephone company.

They called me 20+ times since cancelling the APP a few months ago.  It is Marketing Plus Inc. obviously under contract by the APP to get subscriptions.  They are not the APP. People need to understand they use an autodialer that will just keep calling you until you request removal.  Don't just say you are not interested and don't just "not answer" or hang up, the calls will continue.  Request to speak to a supervisor and explain you would like your number removed.  Their "human" number is 732-602-1919.  You can also try speaking with the Marketing VP at the APP,  Susan Sirmons.  I can't image how people could work for one of these call centers.  Oh yeah, for the money.  Kenny, how is the money there?

It was someone selling subscriptions to the NY Daily News
