I answer the phone and no one is there. When I call back the number doesn't work

Received a call from this number a few minutes ago.  I said hello numerous times, and finally someone asked me if they had the correct address.  I said yes.  Went on for next minute telling me about fires, how kids are impacted, and so on.  Then he asked for a donation.  I told him we are donated out at this time.  Then went on to say my money could help and  he'll mail an envelope. Told him too bad you did not hear me the first time, and I hung up.  I need to donate to this cause all the way in Monmouth?  I don't know these people!

I get phone calls all day and her I answer no one is there

Calls my phone hangs up , does not leave messege.  Very weird

same experience as others; this number has called several times a day for a few weeks now; we don't pick up and they never leave a message.

Same as most of you.  I get called 2-3 times a day from this number and nobody is ever there.  

Same as above. Answered & said hello 4x, started to hang up & heard "hello"- put the phone back to my ear & said hello again, then they hung up. The only reason I picked up is that the area code 732 ( Central NJ) is where much of our family lives & where my husband and I work. Annoying.

Not being critical of you, but... it's a bad idea to call back when you answer a "dead" line. There's a 98% chance it's a telemarketer anyway.

Got a call from this number- as with the others - there was no answer so I hung up and looked it up here - how do we stop this crap from happening.  I'm sit of it

Same here.  Multiple calls per day.  When I pick up no one answers.  When I try to call back there is no answer.  When I look up the number it says its unlisted.

Call from this number at least once a day.  I called back and got a message: "we're sorry your call can not be completed at this time.  Please try again later."  

They just called, left no message, and ID just says New Jersey (I'm in NY).  I never answer these.  From what someone above wrote, I'm figuring this is a scam to get $$ by impersonating some fire department.  Like I'd give to any FD outside my own neighborhood!!  Blocking this scam pest.
