2 calls (maybe 3) today.
740-233-2932 called Sept 18, 2014 at 11:03 am and again at 10:50 am.  Caller ID = OUT OF AREA (USUALLY SPAM).
Later there was a call from Location: Ohio (Cincinnati, Hamilton) using 513-830-0881 at 12:26 pm.  I suspect it's the same people.

RE: CALL BLOCKING - I've noticed that when putting a BLOCK on numbers, to be extra effective, you may have to make 2 blocks.  One for xxx-xxx-xxxx and another for 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx.  The first time, I blocked xxx-xxx-xxxx. When they called the 2nd time, they got thru because I did not block 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx.  My call blocker machine accepted both numbers as unique numbers.

Let go to VM but left no message.  Blocked!

2015, scammers still out there.....no message.

An annoying sales call that starts out saying it is not a sales call.  Who would do business with these people?

Received hang up call from this number.  Number is now blocked.

received call just now.  Automated message saying this is not a consumer or political call.
Called because I am on septic tank
Then stated to press 1 to get more information or 2 to be taken off of call list.
Pressed 2 then heard two clicks then nothing.
I had to manually hang the phone up on them......

I noticed most of the calls----no one has been answering them----
This is what we all need to do---If you don't know who is calling--don't answer.
This way----maybe----it will put them out of business!!!

Same as many other comments, I saw this number come up on my cell phone but I didn't answer it.

Call Answering displayed - Gambier OH - and as usual with most scam calls, no message was left.  I screen my calls and if I can't identify the person/number then I just don't answer.  Blocking the scammers number is an option and can stem the calls to a degree but it's difficult because they just call from a different/multiple other numbers.

As with all callers I don't know, I call the number back.  If I don't get an answer, it's a scammer, and I block the number. If it's legit, they answer and I ask to be put on The Do Not Call List, then I block the number.  My Panasonic phone lets me block calls by area code and city code.

See, this is what I don't understand - why do people insist on calling back the strange and unknown numbers that show up on their caller i.d.?  Why don't you just block the calls?  If a legitimate person/company needs to reach you for whatever reason, they will leave you a voicemail.

These [***] called me on 6-13-16 @ 10:58am and left no message on my answering machine. Apparently it is about septic tank services according to above replies. Glad I wasn't home to get the call!

Repeated calls no one speaks 740 233 2932..told them once to put on no call. Seems since I put my no. On national do not call register
I get 10 calls a day and repeat even after telling them not to call

I have at times to put on their do not call since national register does not work..neither works..seems to make them angry and they call more never saying anything

A lot of posters on 800notes complain they get many calls from scammers.
A few posters state they get hardly any.
Why the difference?  Here are possible reasons.

Click on the associated "Info" line under any statement to read why NOT to use that method.

Answering the phone when the caller's number is unfamiliar.    

Pressing a number "to be taken off the list"

Returning the call.

Arguing with the caller:

Blowing a horn or whistle into the phone:

Forwarding the call to a government office.

Giving or forwarding the supposed scammer's phone number to other scammers.

Getting a new phone number

What you SHOULD do:
If you are disturbed by frequent calls from scammers / spammers. obtain a call blocker app, device, phone, or service.  Google is your friend.  Remember, the Do Not Call list is designed to prevent calls from legitimate, registered telemarketers, but scammers / spammers are not legitimate telemarketers, do not register, and they ignore the DNCL or your requests!
