I got a call at 6:05 AM, 7:10 AM and 8:03AM on Friday morning  on my cell phone.  I called them back after the third call and it is CitiCards.  They asked for my social security number and/or my birthdate.  I told them no and asked them who they were calling.  They said they were calling for someone that I do not know.  When I told them that they had violated the law by calling me twice before 8 AM and for calling my cell phone.  They asked me how to reach the person that they were calling and I told them I had no idea who they were calling, that it wasn't me and to take my number off of there call list.  Now this morning, Monday, I am getting calls from an unavailable caller and the number does not show up.  I have no way to trace this call except to answer it and use up my cell minutes on some idiot.  Also note that if you have a way to record calls when you get them, CitiCards will hang up if you tell them that you are recording the call.  They refuse to be recorded.

This number called at 07:30 CST

Claimed they were calling from Kentucky.

    BS.

The only reason I picked up is I have family in SE Ohio and recognized the area code ...
    thought there was some emergency.

Gotta tell you, when the rough times are passed by, I won't be doing business with this specific bank, and I will find out all the other sub-brands they use to avoid.

Citi Cards do credit cards for a lot of major stores. My company has two: one through Office Depot and one through Home Depot, and I have a personal one for Sears (which is what brought me to this page--got a call this morning from this number, assuming it's because I missed a payment last month).

My cell phone (and a lot of the newer Androids these days) have an option to send any certain number "straight to voicemail" when they call. I saved this number and a few others to my contacts so I could utilize this function--I highly recommend it to avoid the disturbance of repeated calls, whether you owe Citi or not.

I just got called from this number. Caller ID said it was from Delaware, Ohio, however, the woman on the line - who identified herself in a very thick accent as Citi-something-or-other - was very rude. First of all, I do have business with Citi CC, but I will not do business over the phone EVER if I'm being contact by someone at a foreign call center.* So the first thing I asked her if she was calling from within the US. She said YES and then proceeded to move on to the business she wanted to address with me. But I didn't believe her and asked again. She quickly said YES again followed by a I ALREADY TOLD YOU. But I know well enough that sometimes these foreign call centers think it's fine to lie if the company they are working for is in the US yet they are not. So I had to do a WAIT WAIT WAIT ... ARE YOU PHYSICALLY IN THE USA? .... Caller in very thick Indian accent, "Ma'am how many times do I have to tell you, yes, I am in UNITED AMERICAN STATES, now lets move on to you about credit card." REALLY? Click. *FYI: we could do a world of good for US workers if we refused to do business with Companies that employ offshore call centers. We could shut the foreign call centers down and save - or resurrect - the US call centers by simply asking if they are in US and if not, asking to be transferred to a rep stateside. Comcast, Chase, Kmart/Sears, Wells Fargo, and even ATT use foreign call centers (mostly in Philipines because they're accents are very slight) for Customer Service - inbound and outbound. Spread the word.

I believe it is from Citibank.  My son lost his job and has asked that his school loans be deferred.  Apparently they haven't obliged.  We have co-signed on a few of the loans.  I have sent two letters to them requesting deferment, detailing what we can pay, when we can pay and telling them that I am now refusing to accept any phone calls.  We will deal through letters/checks only.  Most likely they are not reading the letters I have stapled to the checks.

We will not give out any information to a # that has called us.  Call me old-fashioned, but I only use checks/letters unless I have initiated the contact by internet.

I probably will block this call from my cell or like another responder posted, have this # go straight to voice mail (great suggestion!)

Number called 3 times this morning. Not sure why but we get a ton of random scammer numbers like many others and they try to fish for information if you pick up otherwise they leave a message for carpet cleaning, lowering your interest rate, duct cleaning, saying your credit card has potentially been used illicitly and other goofy things like that. It's not cool at all. The crazy part is the same number sometimes pops up again later with a new ploy. It's like the scammers figure if we can get their info from them let's try and get some sales on a side business.
    • Caller: Says Citi but not sure it's them since they didn't leave msg

I have been getting calls from this number. About 4 or 5 per day. She asked for someone I do not know. She asked for personal information. This must be a scam or fishing. I spoke to one lady and she told me that they work with Sears.

received many calls from this number. I think they are fishing. Usually the line is empty but when you wait long enough, someone answers. She asked for someone I did not know. I engaged her with conversation and she said that it was citibank and they work with Sears. Come on Sears - are you selling my information??
