This number called me today.  First thing they asked was for my attorney information.  I already knew what they were calling about...trying to scam me (one, I didn't recognize the number, and two, the foreign accent gave it away, LOL).  I didn't even give them the opportunity to try their scare tactics on me.  A legitimate company would send you by mail a letter re a legitimate debt, so that's what I told them - send it to me in a letter.  They first got me earlier this year, then left me alone for awhile, now it looks like it may be starting up again.  But at least now, I'm more aware and knowledgeable of what these scammers are trying to do.

This number called me today and  wanted to know who my attorney was then went to their scare tactics. I knew it was a scam especially when they said I would loose my SSNcard for 7 years.

I rec'd a call from them. They claimed to be the IRS & they claimed that I didn't file my 2005 taxes. I save EVERYTHING, so I know that I did. They claimed haven't answered any of their letters - so, now they needed my Lawyer's contact info to send forms (that were too complicated for me to fill out) to him....to start court proceedings.  I don't have a Lawyer, so that didn't work.  They claimed that I didn't answer their emails, either - so, now they have "no other choice".  I told them, that I didn't get any emails from them - & - asked what email they sent it to.  They told me a "bogus" email - that didn't even resemble mine - & - claimed "that's what you gave us".  I told them that I've never talked to them before - so, I knew that wasn't true.  They claimed that the Sheriff's Dept would be calling me, in the morning, to find out where to serve the summons.  Of course, I knew that was bogus - to "serve papers" - they just "show up"...&...they don't need to "call" to find out your address.

These people called me today claiming to be the irs treasury saying i owe them 2,000 dollars and if i didnt pay i will go to jail for 6 months. i just laughed in their face and said haha i will take 6 months in jail. and they hung up. i know its a scam. the irs never calls you and say that crap. if you owe the irs they will send you tons of letters , they dont call you so i knew it was a scam some guy with a indian accent tryna get money from ppl. BEWARE SCAM ARTIST !!!!!!!!!!!

They called and said they were from the IRS Treasury wanted my attorney's address.  Advised that I didn't have an attorney and they stated you didn't have an attorney like they were suprised.  They said our payment plan with the IRS has been revoked and that they sent a form CD530 Notice out and that I never responded.  What is funny I just talked to the IRS last week about my payment plan.  He said that I better have someone to bail me out when they come and get me.  I just laughed and he hung up.  I have contacted my police department to make them aware of what is going on and I have contacted the IRS and maybe they can do something about this.  Plus they foreign language and the echoing in the phone gave it away.

I received a call from this number today claiming to be the IRS. I knew it was a scam because the IRS does not call you they send letters. i just hung up on them and they called back. I did not answer after that.

Got the call 5 minutes ago. Told them I know its a scam. That I s ould gladly drive to the police station and turn myself in. They told me to go to hell and hung up. Last time they called it was from a Los Angeles number lol.

They called saying they were from the Legal Affairs dept of the US Treasury which is a lie because that's not what the dept is called. I wonder how the scam works because they didn't ask for money (yet!) just my attorney's info.

They call me with the same issue mentioned before about Dept of Treasure Legal affairs of.  I was driving so I told them to leave a voice message. I new was a scam. I call back and td them to call 202-622-2000 them 0  a d ask for the lawyers of the  Dept of Treasure that they willhpthem. They just hang the phone.
