I apply for online loan this people called from this number told I qualify for up to $5.000 they told is going to be 179 a month for 12month they told me I have to put 179 on green dot card so they will deposit the loan into my bank account but when I try to call them back the number don't work. I'm afraid they will go to my bank account can someone help?

I just received an email from Lance Morris saying he is a lawyer at Hogan Lawfirm in Florida and asking me to call him at this number 754-581-8339 and that he would help me out and represent me. I researched Hogan Lawfirm and talked to them about this guy. I found out there is no Lance Morris at their firm and he is not even a lawyer in Florida. They have been getting calls about this guy. This is very scary because he has my social security number and my old address. Please be aware.

I just received an email from a Lance Morris, claiming he is with the Hogan Law Firm. Says in the email that I had loan money put into direct deposit( Which I did not), and That I will be prosecuted in my county within the next two days.  The email states I will be charged with violation of federal banking regulation, collateral check fraud, and theft by deception. The email also goes on to say that I will owe $11,985, not including attorney's fee's and money for bail. The scary thing is, this guy has my old home address, my social security number, and my current email address( which I've had for many many years). These scammers are getting really old with their scare tactics....EVERYONE PLEASE BEWARE !!

I just checked my email and received the same thing. This crap is getting old they have my information and they keep trying to scare me with this crap. Scammers need to find something else to do with their life

Got a email from Lance Morris also. I called the law firm-Hogan and they knew about him and asked me to call the attorney general-I did and sent them the email. Since this scammer is calling from FLA, area code is FLA. Its now in their hands and they were really happy I called. Mr Morris is a scammer so beware all. He also had my SSAN and address. He is foreigner-I called just to hear the voicees.

Oh My gosh...thanks everyone for posting this...I got the same email Thurs and just read it today...scared to death because he has my husband social security number and our old address. I dont know whats going on but he has to be stopped. I am soo scared he will mess with my husband's information!

Received same email with same threat they also called my place of employment they also called my sister and same as above have my old address and SS# going to spend the day changing passwords on accounts and email addresses these fraudulent scammers are scary they can get any info and completely turn your life upside down!!! Please BEWARE!!!!

I just received the same email, does anyone know would I contact my state attorney general or the state of Florida since the area code is from there?

I received a letter from Lance Morris and previous I was receiving threatening calls.  I finally called the general attorney's office in Washington D.C. and they gave me a number of a man you investigates such calls.  He stopped me in the middle of telling him my story and said..."Do not give out any information or give them any money!!!"  It is an international crime going on out of the United States.  They are trying to get these people but they are out of the jurisdiction of the U.S. and keep changing websites and phone numbers so frequently that they can't keep up with them.  He told me that there are three major international crimes going on.  One for payday loans, school loans, and acting as IRS.  He said to ignore any calls or emails and they will eventually leave you alone and move on to their next victim.  I hope this helps and please DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!!!!

Contact at least one of the three credit bureaus - Experian, Equifax, TransUnion - and ask them to place fraud alerts on all your files.  You may also want to look into getting identity theft protection also, as he has your SSN.

I received an email from someone stating the he was Lance Morris and that I would be prosecuted by the court for fraud and that he had my address and ssn.  Beware of any email from him.
