A "Ms. Jones from the law offices of (first name I can't recall) last name "Sanders" called my house telling me I needed to call back to give an official statement. i called back speaking calmly and normally and the guy who took my call asked me several times to increase my speech volume which I complied the first two times. Then it became odd he was asking again. The line seemed fine like I was calling the next house over. i could hear him fine and I'm a 100 percent sure he heard me fine because I asked who it was the company he worked for and he responded fine. I then declined to raise my speech volume any further because I would be at the level of shouting and he then responded he couldn't help me and hung up. Tried calling back but the phone just rang and rang. While the first time I called therre wasn't even one ring before it went to their system. I believe this is some sort of phishing scheme to get information. Do not trust this phone number or give any personal details out to them.

*edit* i called back. it is nothing more than a debt collection agency with empty threats of legal civil judgements against you. I have never had the credit card they said i have. I tried telling them it wasn't my debt and they kept saying i needed to pay it or else they would pass it on to a paralegal as a refusal to pay. the proper step is to dispute it with the three major credit agencies....their proper step is to pay it and then handle it from there.

Various folks from this phone number having been leaving me messages over the past week.  They sometimes identify themselves but never their organization and they keep referring to some kind of "file" they have received on me.  They want to take a "statement" before closing the item.  The most recent caller identified herself as a paralegal, but again did not identify her firm.  I haven't returned any of the phone calls.

I've gotten 2 messages from a  female "Sanders" from this number and after reading the above posts will not be returning these calls...unfortunately, doesn't seem like any way to stop them from calling!

I have excellent credit and no debts...but with a common name I constantly get calls @ for collection, thinking of returning to my maiden name just to avoid them.

This number is related to 817-591-1369-- same annoying repeat calls (all from a different made up name),  message, same scam story.  817-591-1369 has been calling here virtually daily for the last 3 months-- we've never answered and it looks as if we've now been passed on to 757-204-6209.

This is a debt collector in violation of the FDCPA because they A) leave more detail in messages than they should; B) never clearly identify who they are calling for; and C) do not specifically state they are a debt collection agency/agent.  When I got a call from them I called back because it sounded like a law firm.  It ended up being about a very old account that I believe was included in a bankruptcy.  They went on and on without identifying who they were and that they were debt collectors.  I asked what legal matter this pertained to and in what jurisdiction the action was being taken - after asking several times they finally told me that they were not a law firm and no legal action had been taken.  I had to actually ASK them if they were debt collectors and when they finally said yes I asked why they did not tell me that to begin with as required by law - they then got a little upset and said that I was refusing to pay and that the file would be referred on.

I too have received phone calls from this number, several actually and now are at work. They keep saying some kind of file, and then sent paperwork to my HR, which will not send anything without my ok. Thank goodness. I don't know who they are as I don't owe anything. Very frustrating...trying to block the number

I've been getting calls like this ever since I moved to Houston about 3 years ago. It's a bunch of bs! They say in the messages that they leave that they're a law firm and I need to contact them back about paper work that they have in their office, but the message is left so quickly (I mean the guy speaks really fast) I really can't understand most of what he is saying. They call about the same time once or twice a day and leave the same message, but when I tried to call back, they wouldn't give me any info about the company they just said I have to pay them money. I know my credit isn't very good, but I know who I owe to and I know that they aren't one of them. IT'S A SCAM!! DON'T GIVE PERSONAL INFO!!

They keep calling threatening us to proceed with action if they do not receive our statement... it gets cut off never says who it's for... what "file got transferred to his desk" and from who... he makes it sound like he's from an attorney's office. I am NOT calling them back...they need us then send us a letter!

I've had the same calls repeatedly and today I actually answered the phone.  A man proceeded to "leave" a message, as if reading a script, all the while I was saying "hello, hello".  He never responded, left a message and hung up.  Hmm.  I didn't get his name, but Amber Knight keeps calling leaving the same type of message.  I will not be calling them back after reading all the comments left by others.  Another scam ... so many of them out there.

A call came in from this number (left message) and requested I return the call with my mailing address so that the "documents" can be sent to me. I can't imagine how many people actually call back with personal information.

I got several messages on my phone, stating that they have tried to reach me several times, and it is an urgent matter for me to call them back.  They said they tried reaching me several times, and that they needed for me to make a statement in my behalf.  I did not even bother returning the call. They called a cell phone I have not used in years, and has very little minutes on it.

As people have said here. A garbled message to the effect that they need a statement from me. I have never had any dealings with anyone in southeastern Virginia. An impatient-sounding message saying that I should call back TODAY as they have tried several times to reach me. Wonder if there's a way to automate calling them back and leaving incomprehensible message on *their* machine.

Idiots who call people who have no debt.  Ignorant and abusive.  No doubt God has a special place for them.

Have received numerous calles from them.  Called back and asked name of company from a blocked number.  Said they represented many companies and if I would give them my number she could tell me why they were calliing.  Asked again for the company name. No, need your number first.  Said to bad and ended call.

They called me 14 times last week, and not only that started up today, I called them
and couldn't hear them at all, sounded like there was blocking or someone listening on the
other line.  She lied and said that it was the first time I spoke to them which wasn't the truth,
and so I hung up, I'm not dealing with this at all.

they keep calling my house left 2 messages once a lady and the last one from a JR watson saying to call back to take my statement or they would take matters into other hands.  after reading the postings above im not calling them back.  if i owe someone money send me a bill in the mail.  thinking about changing my house number.

This is a debt collection phishing call.  They use a variety of numbers - 757-204-6208, 757-204-6209, 757-204-6331, 817-591-1369.  They are apparently looking for someone with an unpaid debt, not necessarily you.  The phone number they are using isn't necessarily accurate. They have a real odd technique where they do not say who they are or who they are looking for.  They want you to call them and give your personal information.  They use a variety of recordings of a vague nature.  Only naive people would call them back and support their way of doing business.

I have people calling me, for a person with the same name, who used to live in my town, now they google the guy's name and my info comes up, and once you square it with one of these scum bags, they sell it to another, and it just goes on and on.  I not only get phone calls for this guy, I also receive his bills in the mail, to include his child support invoices, collection agencies, and even correspondence from the IRS.  However, its the phone calls that bother me the most, they call at all hours of the day and night.

I have found the answer to all these annoying calls, it's called the Call Blocker, and it works great. I was looking for the solution to these phone calls, for years, and this is the best solution I have found yet. I bought mine on ebay, and it works like a champ.
