Unknown caller/robot:  said, "This is Christine.  Our office has been trying to contact you about an arbitrary matter.  Call rec'd at around 9PM

I got a call today telling me they need current address to serve me an arbitary matter

Received several messages from this number, that were to say the least; obscure yet came across as the uptmost important "arbitrary" matter.

her name is Amber Knight and she works for a debt collector.  The debt was written off by the Credit Card company a long time ago.  this is a scam, Amber is probably a college student who sits in a cubicle harrassing people.

the same person called me about a payday loan that i truly have out there so i asked her to send to me in writing what they are requesting and after i review it i will call them back she said she was going to email it  i never recieved the email! i called cashnet and they gave me the number who they sent my account to and it wasnt that number that called me lol the dumb lady from 757 number said this is recorded line i said good so they hear me say i want it writing ar give me you address and i will send a letter to you stating the same she said mam you not listening to me i emailed it to you i said well mam you not understanding in state of maryland under the fair credit act if i request to you verbally or in writen for the information to be in writen you must comply i said how do i know you not scamm she said we are not a scam lol so offensive huh

i've received this call everyday for about two weeks i try to answer but they hang up on me.

Received a call from David Wells today.  This is the third call in like three weeks.  It is always about an arbitrary matter.  I must call them immediately so that I may have 'in put' before they proceed.  Not sure what it is about.  I get a busy signal every time I call them back.  I am tired of crap like this.  I am must certain this is a debt collector or some kind of bottom feeder looking to collect on a loan or debt from the past that was paid or charged off.  They can go to hell.

stop calling my phone don't know who you are.  If you are trying to reach me write a letter ok.  Get a for real job and stop trying make easy money by scaming people.  You got that.

david wells called me today about a abritrary matter.  I cant even spell that let alone pronounce it.  Anyways ive been receiving calls by him, Amber Knight, and the rest of his cronies for over a 2 years and NOBODY has served me anything or taken me to court.

Received yet another call today from a rather pissed off Christine Spearson (sp).  They keep telling me that I have an arbitrary matter that they will move forward if they do not get my input.  I am not sure who they are but believe they are a debt collector.  I want to say they are CKS Financial out of Cheseapeake, Virginia.  Check out http://cksfin.com/index.aspx.  I am still not convinced why they are calling me.  I keep getting messages because I am not around when they call.

This is a debt collection phishing call.  They use a variety of numbers - 757-204-6208, 757-204-6209, 757-204-6330, 757-204-6331, 817-591-1369, etc.  They are apparently looking for someone with an unpaid debt, not necessarily you.  The phone number they are using isn't necessarily accurate. They have a real odd technique where they do not say who they are or who they are looking for.  They want you to call them and give your personal information.  They use a variety of recordings of a vague nature.  Only naive people would call them back and support their way of doing business.

Gotten calls and the messages say they are from Amber Knight or David Wells. They say they want to speak to me about "an arbitrary matter" and if the don't here from me they will "take further action" or "move forward". They also said I "may not even be aware of this situation". The implication is that they are lawyers who are going to sue me, so I'd better call them back. The thing I find interesting is why don't they say they are with so and so attorney at law? Why don't they say they have been authorized to pursue legal action? Because they haven't. They use fancy wording to make me feel that this is an official legal matter, but they never come out and say that. These people may very well be hired by a debt collector for a legitimate claim, but their methods are absolutely illegal.

I got a call today from this number. They left a voice mailsaying it was important that I call them back asap.  They always leave the same message.  Please stop calling me.

Have also been getting calls from this number, to my business number. I am *quite* sure I have no outstanding debts. Last one:

"This is David Wells. I've had my associate Ms. Knight try to reach you the last few days and we still not heard back from you. I am concerned that you do not know what the current situation. I would appreciate a call back. I can be reached at 757-204-6330. Again that's 757-204-6330. Thank you"

They never say my name or any specifics on what it is about. Have had collectors in the past call about the person who previously had this number and in their messages they *always* leave the name of the person they are trying to reach. Seems quite suspicious to me.

Why anyone would EVER return such a call is beyond me.

I've been getting repeated calls from David Wells and Amber Knight.  They start off by telling me that this is a call for "asodivwekwi" (they let a "robot" give the name and the name is supposedly me when obviously it's not).  They tell me that they are calling about "an arbitrary matter" and that I need to contact them immediately.  My most recent call tells me stuff like I don't know why we have not heard from you (in a pissed off attorney kind of way).  Really, I need to act fast on an arbitrary matter?  I need to call someone who does not even know my name?  This is a scam.  I know they are not debt collectors because 1) I have no outstanding debt 2) collectors send mail first 3) they don't even know my name.  Seriously stop.  And whatever you do, don't give them any info if you call them back... not even your name because they obviously don't have it.

Thank you for all of this information as my husband is receiving calls from this number.  I googled it and found all of these helpful comments.  Therefore, I will not bother calling them back!  :)

An "arbitrary" matter?  
Arbitrary:
1. Determined by chance, whim, or impulse

2. Based on or subject to individual judgement or preference

3. Established by a court or judge rather than a specific law or statute

4. Not limited by law; despotic: "the arbitrary rule of a dictator"

My guess is that the only one that applies is #1.  Don't even subject yourself to their messages.
