This is a debt collection phishing call.  They use a variety of numbers - 757-204-6208, 757-204-6209, 757-204-6331, 817-591-1369.  They are apparently looking for someone with an unpaid debt, not necessarily you.  The phone number they are using isn't necessarily accurate. They have a real odd technique where they do not say who they are or who they are looking for.  They want you to call them and give your personal information.  They use a variety of recordings of a vague nature.  Only naive people would call them back and support their way of doing business.

kept receiving calls from this number, but i never answered the call, they left a voicemail mesage each time, but i'm not calling them, since i don't know them at all.

Everyday I get a call from this number with a real vague message about a file that's come to their desk and "they don't want to move forward without my statement". They're real vague about everything - not telling me their company name - not telling me about "the file". I can't decide whether to let them call ev eryday and calling them back , asking them for their company name and address and then sending them a "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" letter.

A few times when someone called and asked for me I would say "he died". And then just wait for them to say something...I'd say  "I'm his brother". When then ask me to send them proof "of my death" I get mad and tell them I'm not obligated to send them anything! This usually works. Hee-Hee!

They are a debt collector for old debts. The caller, Denise Hall, leaves messages saying it's a legal matter and gives a false "docket" number. I have searched court records in my county and there is no case against me. They have even called relatives and friends looking for information. I'm not sure what the name of the company is. I refuse to call them back since I know it's for an old debt.

They call 2 - 3 x per day

This is getting really ridiculous! this number calls my home and cell number everyday for the last 2 months at least. The person or "persons" are usually the same  individuals will not identify their company name but leave messages stating they have preliminary documents of a legal matter on their desk for my attention. I have no outstanding debt with this company under collections, and have double checked everything. This did not start for me until I started to "clear" up my credit information through the 3 credit bureau's.Lately, the calls almost sound threatening in nature, and I refuse to call them back when this approach is being used. How unprofessional! I am reporting them.DO NOT respond with any personal information to these individuals.

Do not call them back they want all my info with out giving a reason.

This number calls my cell phone multiple times a week. Leaves the same vague messages as others have reported. They left a call back number which was one digit off from the number calling me..I used my office phone to call back and got the same lady who had left the message. I asked who this was..she quickly ran off a long list of names..sounded law firm-ish. I asked why they would be contacting my cell phone and she said they have many business endeavors..vague as usual. She naturally asked for the number they called..I refused to give it to her and hung up. When you can't be forthcoming with who you are and why you are calling me then you aren't legit.

I am blown away that all these people are having the same problem as I am.  I'm getting calls every day.  Its that same story as the others have stated.  Why can someone do something about this.  I googled the number and came up with Cox virginia telecom inc.

I called them back pretending to be a lawyer and they told me that they're business name is CKS. They are a debt collector who was trying to collect on a credit card from Citi Bank I had gotten when I was 18, almost 7 years ago. They wont give any information to the caller unless the caller identifies themselves as the person they are trying to reach.

Same here - except it's "David Wells has been trying to get in touch ' blah blah - I would like to know where you report them so I can do that.

I have people calling me, for a person with the same name, who used to live in my town, now they google the guy's name and my info comes up, and once you square it with one of these scum bags, they sell it to another, and it just goes on and on.  I not only get phone calls for this guy, I also receive his bills in the mail, to include his child support invoices, collection agencies, and even correspondence from the IRS.  However, its the phone calls that bother me the most, they call at all hours of the day and night.

I have found the answer to all these annoying calls, it's called the Call Blocker, and it works great. I was looking for the solution to these phone calls, for years, and this is the best solution I have found yet. I bought mine on ebay, and it works like a champ.
