- EdTwo calls, no message.
- carolinmtGot a call from a woman named Ms. Allen. She said she had a matter that I may not be aware of but wanted to give me the chance for input.
Don't know what she wants and don't owe any money. My daughter talked me into googling this number to see what it is. I'm glad she did. - Tom| 4 repliesThis phone number and many others from the same company (804-657-5050, 202-556-2729, 757-271-2746, 757-251-9018) call at least once a day and sometimes 2-3 times a day. This time it was a Chris Wells calling and again they never leave any information of where they are calling from. They are calling on debt that is 9-10 years old and I have not once receive anything in the mail from them. I have thought for a long time that all their messages were recordings and the last phone call proved it to me since it said "we have this number as your primary home number. If this is a cell phone, please press one to speak to a representative." Just so everyone knows I've found the information for this company by doing a lot of google research. Their name and address are as follows:
CKS Financial
PO Box 2856
Chesapeake, VA 23327
Send them a debt validation letter like I did and I bet you will not receive anything back from them since it seems like they are scum trying to collect VERY old debt that has passed it's statute of limitations in my state. They are preying on people assuming they don't know the laws.- Caller: CKS Financial

- KATHY DUNIGANJill Craffard called me twice in 2 days plus another lady (Amber?) an hour later telling me to make a statement and they would be sending me a statement to sign for a debt of 2007. They talk so fast and keep changing the name of company phone numbers I ask for. I Googled 2 of the numbers and they both came up with a website like this. They are pressuring me to pay through credit card or debit card only, says will not accept a cashier's check (money on their hand). This sounds so devious. Many elderly people are probably really scared by this but I have done some research and they are overgoing their boundaries. I have had not one certified or any letter since 2007 about this. Am I wrong to doubt these people?

Yep.
First of all, they cannot collect on a debt without first validating it. That is the law! Secondly, even if it were proven that you do owe the debt they are calling about, they cannot refuse to accept a money order as payment. They want access to your banking account so they can drain it. It's that simple.
Here's what you do:
Stay OFF the phone and send them this letter VIA certified mail with return receipt attached demanding validation of the debt. Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act they have five days to respond. If they refuse to validate the debt and keep calling you or attempt to get a judgment, you can sue them. If you don't feel comfortable handling them on your own, consult with a consumer law attorney which can be found through your local Bar Association or through naca.net.

Dear {insert name of collector or company},
I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) because I do not believe I owe what you say I owe.
This is the first I've heard from you, or any other company on this matter therefore, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b): Validating Debts:
(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.
I respectfully request that you provide me with the following information:
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) Provide a verification or copy of any judgment (if applicable);
(4) Proof that you are licensed to collect debts in (insert name of your state)
Be advised that I am fully aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For instance, I know that:
Because I have disputed this debt in writing within 30 days of receipt of your dunning notice, you must obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment against me and mail these items to me at your expense.
You cannot add interest or fees except those allowed by the original contract or state law.
you do not have to respond to this dispute but if you do, any attempt to collect this debt without validating it, violates the FDCPA.
Also be advised that I am keeping very accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company including recording all phone calls and I will not hesitate to report violations of the law to my State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.
I have disputed this debt; therefore, until validated you know your information concerning this debt is inaccurate. Thus, if you have already reported this debt to any credit-reporting agency (CRA) or Credit Bureau (CB) then, you must immediately inform them of my dispute with this debt. Reporting information that you know to be inaccurate or failing to report information correctly violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act § 1681s-2. Should you pursue a judgment without validating this debt, I will inform the judge and request the case be dismissed based on your failure to comply with the FDCPA.
Finally, if you do not own this debt, I demand that you immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt.

- Nanette02696 calls...just vague messages left with my husband. The latest one was "adam", but prior messages were others from "Office of David Sanders"
Also, they are using 757-215-1918. My husband asked in reference to what, “an arbitrary matter”, I said “could you be a little more vague”, He didn’t seem to like that and said he’d try later.- Caller: Unknown
- LenoreGot two calls from this number at about 7am this morning. They asked for a woman I never heard of and said that according to their records, she lives with my husband at our phone number and address. One of the calls came to my personal cell phone. Do we need to worry about identity theft?
- Caller: unknown
- UseCallBlockJust another number they use to call 202-683-7750...same scum people! These losers think I will tell them information about a person I was married to over 15 years ago, who has never had this number or address. AND they think I will return their LONG DISTANCE CALL......WRONG!

- CRAZY| 6 repliesI have received several phone calls, both at home and on my cell phone, from 757-215-1915; The only message I have received was to call Mr. Jones at 202-683-7750 regarding a "file that has been placed to him for review" and he would like my "statement" regarding the matter. I called it and the message does not state the company name so I hung up.
Today, they called and my daughter answered the phone while I was at work. She gave them my work number. I am concerned now that they will begin calling me at work.- Caller: unknown
- my business replies to Alfalfa| 12 repliesFirst of all, since you know so much about FDCPA and laws then you should know that it is against the law to "drain" someones account without permission. A company can only take the agreed amount on the agreed upon date or they can be sued.Secondly it's people like you that don't pay their bills and conveniently forget about them that use the FDCPA to shield you from paying your debt and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Then you try to blame the government for the country being in debt. Take a look in the mirror and you will see the real reason why the country is in debt. There would be no need for collection agencies to exist if people would be more responsible with their money and pay their bills.So get off your high horse and encourage others to pay their bills to eliminate debt. You people make me sick.
- concerned replies to CRAZY| 3 repliesYou should be concerned, not only have they been calling my work, but they just sent a fax over to my work asking the HR department to confirm my employment, home residence, telephone numbers, etc. It even says on it "if your policy requires your employees signature to release this information, please have your employee sign it". WTH!!!!!! anyone know a good FDCPA Attorney??? I've got faxed proof these people are breaking the law!
- are you people serious replies to concerned| 2 replieswow it seems like everyone want to get out of doing the right thing now you calling these people scum and you the one running from doing the right thing stop put stuff online and get a job and pay your bills on time ??? if some fax something to your job maybe your being sued ???
- W.T.I have to agree... Yeah i use to get pissed off when i got all the calls but after talking to people one by one i got my credit to be ten times better actually found a job because of it.. The calls are annoying but it's nice to get someone that will work with you....
All your doing is hurting yourselves - AnnaThese people are DOGS. If you get a call from Chris Davis don't take it. These people have been harassing me at my WORK place! They are debt collectors, but won't give you any messages.
- GrannyOne of my sons, my daughter, and myself now have received phone calls from Melissa Allen 202-683-7750 asking for information for a family member. We KNOW he doesn't owe anything as he's never had anything to owe on! They won't be getting anything out of him, he still doesn't have anything! Both ex-wives get it all.

- Mandi replies to my businessHave u ever considered that perhaps there are people out there who aren't financially educated and get into credit card trouble and can't get out? If you're so great, and high and mighty, why don't you take care of everyones debt for us and call it a day.
- not just trying to collect debt replies to are you people seriousThis phone number and "Ms. Allen" is NOT just trying to collect debts apparently. They are calling us regarding "an important message they have regarding a family member of my husband". So yes, if you have a debt you should be making every effort to responsibly pay it off...but these people are also trying to collect funds inappropriately too. We have no un-paid old debts, they have no reason to be calling us a couple time a day. The number is 202-683-7750.
- SpringtimeA gal named Amber Knight called saying she "had to speak to me regarding a file on her desk. Would I please return her call to straighten out this matter?" No name of who she was calling for just that whomever heard the message should call her back. I don't think so. I do not owe anyone anything and I'm not going to be giving info out about anyone else if they are on a fishing expedition. This company is evasive and vague and is dialing for dollars.
- Caller: Debt Collectors

- fed upObvious scam. Got a call from "Amber Knight" saying she "had some paperwork on her desk" concerning me. Gave no company name or anything else. This number is now on my block-list.
- Tony Rice replies to my business| 1 replyIt's guys like you that are buying old debts at $0.05 on the dollar that have been written off by the prime company. You are wanting to collect at 100% of the debt which is generally seven years old.
These companines prey on elder people with threats. One way to stop the calls is to tell them that you are recording the call for8 training purposes. They will NOT talk any further and immediately get off the phone.
