- Richard LivesayCall appeared with ID from local area (Courtland) and identified herself as Michelle and call was being recorded, said she was giving away big box store gift cards by 7 PM tonight. Before letting her continue I told her goodbye, hung up. Re dialed the number and was told it was not a valid extension.

- sonica replies to Judy| 1 replyYes, a scam by scum! It's usually the same desperate sleazy 2nd market buyer of old, out of litigation, past statute of limitations unpaid AND unprosecutorial debts.
They pretend to do a survey to get info, especially your name. Once you admit who you are, they can start the whole harassing debt collection maneuvers again. So NEVER SAY who you are to those slimey devious fakers. They don't care how much hurt they can cause you by threats & nasty name calling as soon as you tell them to stop any contact with you.
And by the way, since they can access your credit report they can get your phone number, by what appears to be false manipulation to see your personal info. Since they buy your old debt for pennies, they aren't an agent of the original debt creditor, acting on their behalf to attempt collection of a debt, which association allows access to more of your info. But in purchasing the old debt, it no longer has that access. - sonicaAfter a rude exchange by a slimey 2nd market debt scumbrag on behalf of a harassed to tears friend, I informed, and suggested to him to find another number to call from, cause that one is being sent to a national pedophile watch list, matched to the phone's area code.
Silence is golden. Going on 3 years and no email or snail mail, either. Helping my friend fight off a bully gave her back her smile & now, if an unknown number rings up, she sticks out her tongue at it & let's it ring.
I used that watch list tact, too. AND they removed all their identifiers from my credit report! By the way, the watch list also stored all types of abuse causes, too.- Call type: Debt collector
- ShannonThe call came in from court land saying we want you to take a survey and it ends at 7pm and I would receive a $50 gift card to Walmart and target told them it was a scam and she proceed to tell me again . I said NO this is scame Michell hung up and said have a nice day

- Rick replies to sonicaThey called on my cell phone. I wonder if this is a recycled number? They might think I am a different person.
- JudyI finally got to the bottom of this scam. First, you answer a short survey (it could be about anything). Then they say you qualify for store gift cards. (Yippee!) Then they ask for your name, address and email address. once they get that they say you need to pay shipping for the gift cards. This is usually $5. And guess how you have to pay for it? That's right, by credit card. That's the reason for whole scam -- to get your credit card number.
