didn't answer, they left a message. UPS calling regarding inspecting a damaged package.

Got a call from 757-591-6001.  She said she's from UPS and is in the investigation department.  Wanted to know if I received a package.

Non-working number from UPS Newport News. Ms. Devos

Rcvd a call from 757-591-6001. No message was left.

Got a call from this number -- said she was from UPS.  I told her that the person she was looking for didn't live here and I didn't have a telephone # for her.

Received a call with this number listed on caller ID. No message. I called the number back, reached a message stating that I reached a non-working number at UPS Newport News.

they called me again (originally called 15 minutes ago). This is UPS's division for tracking lost packages.

This number is a legitimate UPS number. That dept. calls to followup on packages that had delivery problems (lost, damaged, etc.). I recomend always answering calls from that number. (they called me to find out if I had resolved an issued with a delivery that took place a month ago, were one of the 7 boxes was lost).

Says "non-working number" but it IS UPS and I DID lose a package. Guaranteed its the tracing dept. Answer this call. I didn't, but regret it now

If you get a call from 757-591-6001 and missed the call, you can reach UPS at Newport New, Conn, by calling 757-591-6000, personel office, hit 0 key, and tell the operator you need to talk to the tracing dept. It worked for me.

UPS damaged and Lost package Claims Dept. When an insured package is reported lost or damaged, it triggers certain procedures. This department is concerned with the initial investigation process. They may ask certai questions, arrange for damaged package inspection or pick up. Once this procedure has been satisfied, a decision on the claim can be made.

They do not leave messages because they fugure that if you have a legitimate claim you will be following up by calling them again. Also part of the investigation is no to allow you aconvenient chance to have them work at your own pace. They have to do it on their own pace.

UPS Tracking service. Found the caller to be pleasant and polite and helpful about a situation that's been going on with a lost package.

Received a call on my cellphone @ 7:00 AM today - the 14th of Jan 2010.  Didn't answer because the number wasn't familiar.  I called back later from both my cellphone and home phone.  Cannot accept incoming call and the answering messages was Newport News.

got a call twice today- the first time person spoke quietly and quickly and could not make out ph# to call back..called # it came in on and it said it was ups for newport news.  i have not ordered anything from newport news in years!
