Tried to steal a laptop on Craigslist

yup scammer!! He tried to get me to send him my computer for sale on craigslist

tried to get may laptop, scammer!

I received a text message from this number in reference to a laptop that I am selling on Craigslist. The text includes the title of my ad and the interested party clearly did not read my ad. Also, the number originates in Virginia and I live in New Jersey. This screams suspicious!

I put my S5 Galaxy on craigslist ATL and he sent 470$ which is 95$ more than what I offered into supposedly my Paypal account however when I go into my account there's no pending fund but the "Worldwide Paypal" email I have says it is. So I took the address and googled it and this forum came up.  I called said I could not get thru so I told them they were a scam and to beat it!

This is the message I got from the fake paypal they paid notice it says the funds will be Credited and effectively into your PayPal (saulvasquez2014@gmail.com THATS NOT MINES

Tried to buy some beat headphones from me. Told me he was stationed at "fort riley" (which is in Kansas) and his name was fred and to send them to his Niece in michigan. Used this email "fred_jones2001@yahoo.com.
Offered to pay for shipping and said he was a "serious buyer and I have no problem sending the full payment first"

Says it's from Baltimore.

i told them their offensive security is from 2004 and they should update their social engineering, because it wouldnt even work at a rest home. the program they use is a Craigslist Scraper, Ive seen it before with hands on experience out of curiousity combined with self created or hijacked emails. then a "DROP OFF" address thats good enough for them to pick up at. pretty simple and used to be effective. i suggest using google voice for craigslist only. so that address they give you? just report it ;)
