- Donna| 1 replyDon't know who this person or people are but they called for my daughter who doesn't even live at my house, how they got my number is beyond me, wish they would stop calling me.

- Anonymous| 6 repliesI have sent multiple debt validation letters to this company and they continue to call and send collection notices, as well as report an invalid debt to the credit bureaus but they never can validate the debt because it isn't mine. This is illegal and I probably should have a lawyer send them a cease and desist letter, but I don't know if it is worth it. If they can't validate a debt within 30 days, they are required by law to stop collection attempts and stop reporting it to the credit bureaus until they can validate it. All I get is some minimum wage moron on the other end of the phone lecturing me, saying I owe them money and refusing to answer questions about the debt validation.

- Susan replies to Anonymous| 1 replyWhy does the credit bureau let them do it?
- Tamianth replies to SusanThey don't! You need to take your own steps here, sending a cease and desist letter via certified or return receipt US mail and follow the steps in what you need to know.

This company is the lowlife equivalent of the wall street hucksters that destroyed the economy with their greed and continues to grow the income inequality gap. Can't do anything much about all that, but I CAN ignore these scumfeeders and their illegal practices.

- Melissa| 4 repliesI receive several phone calls from 757-663-7884 during the day while at work and they NEVER leave a message. I finally got annoyed that they keel calling so I called to see why. Come to find out they were attempting to collect a debt that didn’t even exist. They tried telling me I owed on an old Victoria Secret account which was closed over 10yrs ago, not to mention there was NO outstanding balance. When I asked the rep for documentation confirming the debt ect. I was told that was not available and that my only option to get the phone calls to stop was to make a payment – no happening! I then asked why I am being contacted so long after an account that closed without receiving any prior phone calls or letters in the mail. After asking to speak with a supervisor I was hung up on. I’ve since blocked the phone# from calling my phone and have reported them to the people at Victoria Secret since they are attempting to scam their customers for money that isn’t event owed as well as the BBB.
- maria19 replies to lizardkickerThank you so much for the list! It helps a lot!
- Robert| 1 replyPortfolio Recovery. They've been calling me for years now. I don't owe anybody any money and I never answer their calls. I never answer any number I don't recognize and I never return calls when no message is left. I didn't always feel that way but I have no choice now. Now I almost always do a web search of the number which almost always leads me here. Glad this site exists.

- Brian replies to AnonymousYou need to send a cease and disist letter with a warning on it. Something to the nature of if they call you or anyone else like a spouse or family member, or contact you by mail you will seek legal action. If they then contact you after that point they will be in violation of federal law.
- Brian replies to Melissa| 3 repliesThis company is a legitamet collectiona agency. You just get people from time to time that don't know there job. Plus anything that sounds like legal advice is in violation of law. Plus it is illegal for them to collect a debt without them sending you documentation! You did right by reporting it to Victoria's Secret. However the BBB can't really do anything.
- RobertPortfolio Recovery. They call sometimes a dozen or more times a day. I owe no one any money but I've read they try to extort something anyway if they make contact. Eff them. I hope the law catches up with every one of them and they retire in prison.

- MLP| 1 replyPlease report this number as harrassment.
- Dixie| 2 repliesAnother new number Portfolio Recovery is using; I have added it to my list of callers that have a silent ringer, so I don't have to be disturbed when they call. I have previously sent a "cease and deist" letter, but they are apparently ignoring it! They took me to court once, and lost, because they could not prove I owed them anything (which I didn't!). They still robo-call my cell-phone (which is also illegal) and send me settlement options for the same account they say I owe them. At the very bottom of the letters, in small print, is a notification that they can't take me to court because of the Statue of Limitations, yet they continue to waste their time. I consider them scum, and will not talk to them, for fear of them "re-aging" this account they say I owe. I try not to get irritated, and when they use a new number to contact me, I will make a little report like this in hopes that it will help others.

- Just Me replies to Brian| 1 replySo how long have you worked for this company? Sorry but if you are defending them scum sacking bottom feeders, then they must be paying you.
