A man left a message about going to court, something about a magistrate.  It didn't scare me because I know it is not a call related to me... but I hate bogus callers.  I'm on the Do No Call list and wish it could be more fully enforced.

I just got the same message.  I also knew I hadn't committed any federal crime so didn't return the call, but I feel bad for senior citizens who might be frightened by such a threat and call back giving these slime balls whatever information they ask for.

I just received the call. I'm a senior and check all unidentifiable numbers online before returning. I will report this number to our state attorney general's office as a sham. No, I didn't/won't return the call and will let friends know about it. The man's voice identified himself as Steve Martin. He sounded foreign. He said he was calling from the US Treasury.  I certainly hope nobody returns the call.

Just left me a message that says I will go in front of a grand jewelry instead of jury...knew it was a scam.

The caller had a strong Indian accent & stated that he was calling w/ urgent information regarding the US Treasury & a alleged federal criminal offense.  He never said where he was calling from or who exactly in our household he was calling for.  Odd thing is, we have had almost identical calls from the number 360-284-4864.

"Steve Martin" has called my number numerous times over the past 2 months...leaving messages, threats etc.  I finally called the number back today, asked to be put on their DO NOT CALL list... he hung up on me.  Then I called again...then I called again, and again...he didn't seem to like it very much after the 5th call I was thrown into his vm. WHO'S LAUGHING NOW...HMMM STEVE MARTIN?  Think I will call this number every spare minute I have...totally ticks me off they are getting away with crap like this!

It took the moron calling me three messages to where he got the script down and left a call back number (757-694-0276)  This tipped me off that the call couldn't be legit...a man with heavy accent claiming to be Steve Martin, threatening Magistrate this and that and refusal would result in penalties.  I called him back from my cell and a guy with a heavy accent answered...I asked him if he was Steve Martin...he said he wasn't there or something to that effect...I told him that he sounded like Steve Martin to me...and then the conversation got vernacular and he hung up.  I think I will report him to the FBI.  This world...I never gave it a thought about senior citizens...

Same call the "Cabbie" received.  757-694-0276. Very Threating.  About calling him back or will be prosecuted.  I'm calling it telemarketer, but it should be called threating and intimidating.

"Steve Martin" called me 9/9/15 and left a message, identical to that reported by other people on this site. His rather bizarre description of the federal enforcement process gave me a good laugh (I'm a retired fed with enforcement/compliance experience) but I am sure it would not be funny to someone not aware of how things work. The guy is a creep and a predator and should be behind bars.

This guy w as busy, I also received the same call as described. So what is the process to get him and others like him behind bars?

I got a call 9/9/2015 12:45 PM Arizona time from a “Steve Martin” saying I need to call (757) 694-0276 about a federal enforcement action against me by the Treasury Department. He said that failure to call back would constitute the second willful warning and would force me to appear before the federal magistrate judge and would lead to my arrest and imprisonment. He said that I need to call back so that I could get him to help me. He repeated the message three times. He had a threatening voice with what I thought was an English accent, possibly an Indian English accent. About four hours later he called back again with the same message. I’ll try to report this to the Arizona AG, the FCC and the FTC.

An Indian or Pakistani woman called and said that my Mom would be arrested today for deliberate miscalculation of taxes.  I asked her to send documentation and she refused.  What a scam!!!!

Same experience as others. I just hung up. I wonder what they are fishing for. I won't call back.

An Indian from India is for sure!!!. I hope he gets to read all these message. What a scam, no one should even entertain such calls and why on earth the IRS is not taking such calls seriously. PURRRR, all these bad guys will get no where. They don't realize that their drama is all stale by now.

Same experience.  I skipped the call, but got them on voice message.  I'm very happy things like 800notes exist. :)

Received the same call about a magistrate.  Caller is a fake.  Please enforce DO NOT Call.

I am a senior and did receive a very horrible call from someone that said he was brian spector from the treasury dept and that i filed my 2010 taxes incorrectly.  He said they have a warrant out for my arrest and that i am going to jail today.  I have left a message with my accountant about this.  I am going to report this to my police department also and anyone else that i can think of  this is the second time i have received a call like this and my blood pressure and cancer can't take anymore

Steve Martin said "you will be arested today if you don't pay me" I identified myself as a deputy sheriff and asked "if we can please meet today to talk about this" you should have heard how fast he slammed his phone down. HaHaHa...

Caller stated he needed me to call that I had a problem with the US Treasurey and that could be brought in front of a Grand Jury....same and all the others who have recieved a call. His message is on my answer machine.  Not worth my time or energy to argue with him. "call me so I can help you help yourself."

"Hi, this message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin. And I'm calling recalling an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to awoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 757-694-0276. I repeat, 757-694-0276. I adwise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you."
