- Rae| 1 replyThis number called me wanted me to verify my social and told me I owe a cash loan over 1000, but couldnt tell exactly how much, from when i worked at a factory. I was making $13.00 an hour working there 10 years ago. No way I took out a cash loan for 1000, considering I bought a house and a brand new car that year. And never was behind a day. And when I said no I am sure I did not they screamed at me they would report me as hostile, and non cooperative and I could deal with the jail and consequences. Really? I blocked their number and they havent called back.
- TLSgot a call from them on my business line. when i told them to stop calling they threatened me says their a federal company and were recording my conversation and they had the right to call. I told them not to call my number again that the person they were looking for did not nor ever had worked here and he said now I had his attention and he would investigate me. Very Rude!

- drew| 1 replythis is their website: http://www.consumerrecovery.com/
if you read the FAQ then you can see what a total scam they are! they actually say that you have to report your debt as income???? seriously? from their own FAQ:
Can CRA turn me over to the IRS?
We do not turn people over to the IRS, but debts that are deemed uncollectable are subject to issuance of a 1099-C.
What is a 1099-C?
A 1099-C form is a form you must turn into the Internal Revenue Service showing cancellation of debt. If you do not repay your debt, you must report it as income to the IRS.- Caller: cra
- Rob replies to caliguyWell, even if you did have this debt, it's way past the status of limitations. Another bottom feeding "collection agency". http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml
- Rob replies to RaeSame old scam, different jumber:

Gotta love Magic Jack. - Rob replies to drewSame old scammers. Websites like these really cut into the scamming money, but, these losers will keep trying. It's like they learn one word, and use it for everything. They'll go far enough to get one official thing, then try to apply it to scamming. A 1099-C is if a secured debt is forgiven (usually for property) not for a supposedly unpaid payday loan. Should one be interested, here's a link to the IRS.gov website, and a publication about 1099-C: http://www.irs.gov/publications/p4681/ix01.html
