This company calls 3 or 4 times a day at my work. We've blocked it's other numbers whenever they call us. We always know its them by the caller id of Receivablesperf. If you pick up the phone, they all ways hang up. It's so super annoying. I work with the public and I always have to stop what im doing to answer the phone and then I get hung up on. We've found some other information on them, and its pretty much a scam. one of my co- workers called and they said they were verizon and we owed them $700. They never asked for any of our information or our security code. Just that we owed them money, When my co-worker asked why they kept hanging up when ever we answer, they just hung up. The owner has pretty much has given up, so we have to deal with this everyday.

Hay Disgruntled employee, this is not from Verzion, it's a collection agency. We get the same calls, but do not owe anything to them, in fact all my Verizon bills are on auto payment, they have been so since 1999.

This is definitely a collection agency. They told me as well that I owed money to Verizon. I asked the girl when the past due money was from, and she told me it was from Jan 2010, which was a year after I had cancelled my Verizon service and switched to another provider.I don't know if they forgot to bill me something, or if their computer is screwed up, but that's not my problem. I had a final bill from Verizon in 2008, which I paid... anything after that, you're [***] out of luck Verizon!! This is actually the second go around for Verizon trying to get this BS bill paid. I went through all of this about 6 months ago, and after I sent them paperwork they backed off. Guess they figure they can get someone different and dumb enough to pay it? Girl was very rude, and kept telling me that I owed it and how was I going to take care of this today. It got to the point that I started laughing at her, which she actually got upset over and yelled at me! I had already told her 5 times the above story, and was willing to send her a copy, but all she wanted was money.. I thought her persistence was quite amusing... Needless to say I'll still get phone calls, and they don't care whether or not you actually owe the money, they care about getting paid.. it's like they work on commission or something?

I have gotten two calls from this number in the past hour; I don't answer calls I don't recognize.  My caller ID says National Direct, and there was no message in my voice mail from them. I notice other posters here have said these calls are from Receivables whatever.  I get twice-a-day calls from them from various numbers. Also, other posters here link this caller to Verizon.  A year and a half ago, I left Verizon for my cable provider's triple play.  They continued to bill me past the date they discontinued my service.  I wrote them and/or the first collection entity that had sent collection snail mail to me.  I thought that must have taken care of it.... guess not.

The next time they call me I will pick up and video my abuse of them and put them on blast all over youtube.  I encourage everyone to do the same.  I'll repost once my video is up

Below is a template of the Cease and Desist letter I used to get rid of these fools.  I sent it certified and registered and the calls stopped roughly 4-days after it was sent.  I received the return receipt (as my proof they received it) in the mail about 6-days later.

This will serve as your legal notice under provisions of federal law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), to cease all communication with me in regard to the phone number referenced above. If you fail to heed this notice, I will file a formal complaint against you with the Federal Trade Commission who is responsible for enforcement, the States Attorney General office and/or the American Collectors Association.

We have decided that we do not desire to work with a collection agency under any circumstances. We will contact the original creditor to resolve this matter directly, as circumstances warrant.

You are also notified that should any adverse information be placed against my credit reports as a result of this notice that appropriate actions will be taken. Give this very important matter the attention it deserves.
