Caller ID says "Urgent". It was so Urgent they didn't bother to leave a message. Talk to the machine.

Said Urgent, but no one was there when I answered.  Stayed on the line then dial tone.  

First, I am on the Do Not Call list.  Lately, I have been receiving many more nuisance phone calls than ever before.  Like this one from supposedly "American Alert Services", they are of the recorded message variety with an option to connect to a customer service representative. I have grown tired of trying to ignore these calls and am trying a new approach since their "press a number to opt out" doesn't seem to work.  I now connect to the customer service rep and immediately ask for the name and phone number of the company.  The rep usually tries to engage me in his/her sales pitch.  They usually end up hanging up on me without giving me any information.  But I'm hoping that somehow this interaction will get them to stop calling.  Plus sometimes I get some information like a company name to go with the Caller ID phone number in order to put it on the Do Not Call Complaint form.

Michele, These alert calls are on a rampage, Do Not Call complaint just file but feel there are so many they do not keep up, do not answer the phone let it go to voice mail when you pick that phone up that company knows they have a good number to keep calling, when there is no answer everytime they call they are paying for that answering machine so eventually they will stop calling, speaking to a cust service rep is like talking to thin air, but now they know your number is good and will keep calling, put report in also to Attorney Generals number and the BBB in that state or city in calif

Received a call from "Urgent"  on 760-204-3179 this am. Hang up with no message. Just pressed "save" on the call blocker black list.  

We keep getting these calls about medical alert. We have "opted Out" many times.How can we stop these calls

The scammer did not leave a message on our answering machine.
Our numbers are in the Do-Not-Call Registry.

Msg. said If your over 65 you may be eligible to receive over $3000 in grocery's & a medical bracelet to save your life.

Do Not Call lists are actually a phone number collection tactic. We all get more unwanted calls now, don't we? I am going to stop adding my numbers...

Call at 12:57 on 6/11/14 with caller ID saying URGENT -- Answered -- no one there, and this is my second such call today.  Aggravating, and I am sick and tired of all these calls, too.  No wonder folks take out landline telephones and use only their cell phones for emergencies.

Got a call from this number- but they are spoofing numbers.  They said they were from "Windows" and my computer called them because there is a bug in my windows software.  Yeah, right- first, we aren't getting internet through a phone line, and second, we have only Macs in our house.  Have received several calls from them over the past month...  all showing different numbers.

I never answer the house phone unless i recognize the number. Glad i didn't answer this one too. Not only am I not over 65, but my laptop is a mac too. Jokes on them. I almost never answer the house phone. And I rarely get spam calls on my cell. I figure since I'm on the do not call list then any unrecognizable number is a scammer. The legit businesses that occasionally call have a full and correct number with their company name and it is usually a call back from someone who I contacted first. Thanks for the internet so i can look up some of these scammers and add to the blogs.

Received two calls today from two separate locations/phone numbers from 7602043179 "Senior Medical Alert"  It is an ad preying on Elders.  

Received a call from this n umber around 7pm tonight. No one answered when I said Hello twice so hung up. We have been getting the Scam on Windows and the Medical alert one quite often . Normally don't answer when  I don't recognize the number but thought I would and opt out but that didn't work. They keep calling.

Urgent... it is just a Phishing platform...  said they were from Microsoft and had an 'urgent' upgrade that they wanted me to log onto their website to download...
