Your guess is 100% correct.  These are criminal scammers.  Don't bother even talking to them.

These creeps just called my cell phone number.  Reported to donotcall.gov.

I believe this is a scam. On Sat.9/1 at 1:24 pm  I got a phone call with an automated woman's voice representing "credit card services" saying "your credit card" has "a time-limited offer of reducing your interest rate to 6%", then asking to press 1. I did out of curiosity and got a man with a very thick Asian accent, who wanted my  name and my bank info. He would not tell me which bank or  credit card company he was calling from, and got angry that I would not give him any info. He threatened that I would not get his great offer of 6% unless I gave him information that he should know if he were really calling from my bank or credit card. When confronted with these facts and asked what he was doing and if he was he a scamer, he hung up. When I tried to call back several times to speak to a supervisor, all I got were busy signals. I reported them to FCC.gov and suggest anyone receiving this call to do the same. No doubt these are either foreign scamers or a company engaged in shady business practices.

It is bad enough that they call my house, but now my cell phone!!  Thanks to the people here, I didn't answer and the caller didn't leave a message.

Same scam about interest rates. Have been on Do Not Call list so filed a complaint.

Scam call to my cellphone. Imaging if I were driving and got into an accident because of these sobs.

I received a call about 8 minutes ago from 1-760-242-8473.  I checked the
caller ID.  The call was from California.  I didn't answer it because the phone number
was not familiar at all to me.

After reading all the other posts about these scammers, I'm glad I didn't answer the phone!

they call about a credit card.  i tell them i do not have any cards.  i haven't had any for years,so what a bunch of fools.  they still call daily.

Called my cell phone this morning.    Didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer.    Checked here and sure enough....   A robocall to a cell phone that's on the federal DNC.    Perhaps I should have posted this under the " 'Celebrating' The Do Not Call's 10th Anniversary," thread.

Received computer generated call from 760-242-8473 saying they were calling about my credit card but not to worry, that nothing is wrong; then, I hung up.   I have no credit cards.  Obviously a scam.

I just got a call from this number and ignored it.  I immediately typed in the number and see that this is a scammer and I am on the federal DNC.  Very happy I didnt answer the call!

If you get an incomming call from this number, just ket it ring. IT IS A SCAM!!
