760-283-1718 called several times and stated that my computer was "Highly Infected" with a new virus. I said we had an IT guy and he stated they do not know anything about this virus. Stupidly, he gave me the above call back number, and said to ask for Frank. I called back asking for "Mary Clark" and in the background I could hear many conversations, a real boiler room operation. DO NOT GIVE THESE CLOWNS ANY INFO. FROM YOUR COMPUTER!

I just got the same call. Guy called himself Alan and stated he was calling from windows operating system. Asked me to immediately go to my computer and he will give me instructions on how to remove the malicious virus that might be affecting my computer. I told him to call back tomorrow in order to buy me some time to find out what this is about. He spoke in such an urgent manner.

I have gotten this call periodically over the last year. They gave me the number too. I told him (Mr.Patrick) that I would call the Sheriff's department and then get right back to them.

Same thing except the man goes by Mark Watson. When you call back they try to get you in front of your computer. They seem to be attacking the elderly and gullible by making them believe your computer is sending out spam mail and then they threatened to "break my computer" if I failed to comply. LOL I don't have a computer. I just have a phone with a data plan.

Following up on last post. I forgot to tell you they also use 213-457-3299. When they call from this number a lady says her name is Ellen and then puts a man on the phone who's a real jerk and threatens bodily harm and uses a lot of profanity to make you go to your computer. Although they claim to be  with the windows operating system, Windows Customer Service denies anything to do with the matter.

This number was given to my by www.ammyy.com scammers who were trying to get remote access to my computer.

I just got a call from this group claiming my computer was hacked and I told them I didn't have a laptop and then he called me a liar and said it was urgent that I log in and he show me how to fix it.  I told him that my husband has one but its with him.  I asked him to give me the steps to fix it and I will right it down to give to my husband and he said he needs to do it when computer is in front of you.  I got his call back number which is 760-283-1718.  I told him when we call him back that I will also give him my bank account number to make it easy on him so he can go right to my money.

I just received a call from this number also and he first talked to my son. He told my son that he had been to our house and said "don't you remember me?" When I got on the phone he became very pushy and urgent that I get on my computer and look at the messages that microsoft has been sending out. I told him that I did not believe him. He told me to "open your eyes and look at your computer". I told him that I did not have my computer with me and he became angry. He told me that they had blocked my computer and that I would have to buy a new operating system because I had downloaded malicious virus. I told him that that was not true. He tried to get me to tell him what security software I had on my computer and I refused to tell him. I told him to call me back tomorrow and I would give him the information. Like heck I will.

I just got a call from this number today and a man said my computer had several viruses! there were a couple of people in the back groud as well they had my computer ID number and I matched it thinking it was legit they instantly got into my computer and was showing me all my viruses and seen I do alot of on line banking, facebook ext. I asked him his name he chuckled and said it was David Johnson and gave me the same number 760-283-1718 he then told me that my warrenty had expired on my computer but would fix the virus no charge but I would have to renew my warrenty and www.ammyy.com scammers that I needed to pay $199.00 right away when I said I didnt have it he then said ok $119.00 I said I'll just shut it of I have 5 kids there more important than a computer then he went as low as $67.00 I knew something wasen't right when I called the number on my cell phone while talking to him and just got a busy signal. I even call after I hung up and the phone line was blank. before this I told him I'm disconnecting my computer he said no wait just 20min while I clear the virus you have I shut it down. I pray they didn't get what they were looking for they did get into my computer but I didnt give them any of my information I dont beleave they got far on my computer after I disconnected it I called my bank then ATT and changed all acsess to my pass words ext. I have never been scamed before this was my first and I'm still scared I can't beleave it shocked!!

i received a call for a very pushy individual as well. came up on caller i.d as private number  i told him i refused to give him any info over the phone without confirmation of who he was and why he was calling. he first gave me one name , then when he gave me this call back number he gave me a david smith  as his name .

Not only did they call  me to tell me I needed to turn on my computer to fix a problem only they know how to do, they did this at 6:40 A.M........... I thought there was a law for solicitors that they couldn't call before 8am or after 9pm. Of course I didn't turn on my computer or fall for their threats.. Yes they threatened me. Told me I would be infected with viruses.
They represent themselves at Authorized Windows and they researched my phone number through my Windows License ID..  they even gave me a ID numbers 88860-sc0a-11cf8fof-00c04fb062
I can not believe people fall for this. WINDOWS will never call you to fix something. NEVER!
I insisted on a return number 760-283-1718. Every time I called back someone with an Indonesian accent.
You can hear others talking in the back ground. Very pushy.

Received this call the other day and stupid me went as far as to give him control of my computer. He disabled my Microsoft Windows before I could get it shut down and now my computer will not operate. We have one of those all in one computers that we have had trouble with and were thinking of replacing anyway but I have files and programs on it that I need. Anyone know how I can reinstate my windows operating program so I can get what I need off of it?
