This is number used (or faked) by a scammer trying to get money from threatening an enforcement action by the Treasury Dept. He called himself Anthony Cooper (has an Asian accent) and left the number 210-607-8922 for me to call back. I looked up that number and there are tons of reports listed on 800Notes of scams by this person posing as an agent for the IRS or Treasury. After I blocked it, I got two more calls from this number.

I've gotten two calls from this number today.  Same exact deal as above poster.  Same return call number.  Anthony Cooper, Treasury Dept., threatening.  SCAM

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

Called 2 times yesterday. Left no message. Don't have a clue who they are except phone id says Vista, CA. It is amazing how every low-life scumball can constantly annoy all of us yet our govenment seems as helpless as a new born baby in putting a dent in the multitude of bogus phone calls!!!

These guys are smooth.  I feel certain after the time I let them spend with me on the phone they will be very successful in getting many others to believe it's legit.  No one in the Department of the Treasury or IRS will bully you into making a payment.  Folks please be careful.

I got a call from this anus-licker today. Same crap message you guys got US Treasury, call back or legal action threatened. Only difference was his fake name provided was Steve Martin (Middle Eastern accent).

I received the same call two days in a row. Its a message on a repeating loop.  When I did not hang up, it played again, and again.  Ignore it. Its a complete scam.

Received 2 phone calls from this number.  Claimed to be an agent of the U.S. Treasury, left a long message talking about federal offenses, grand juries, criminal investigations and ended by leaving this same number to call back, asking for timely cooperation.  I immediately called back to see what it was about, and the same voice identified himself as James something (mumbled) of the U.S. Treasury.  When asked what the message was all about, he asked me who I am, then hung up on me because I'm not the person whose name is on the phone.

When I asked for his full name, job title, location, and case number, he answered questions with questions, that's how he found out that I wasn't the person listed on the phone.  I don't know what he hoped to gain, seems like a total waste of time to me.

This isn't a scam... it's a bunch of [***] trying to get you to call 201-607-8922 to listen to a "magic jack" advert.
It's just piss-poor advertising by a bunch of magic [***]!

"Hi this message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding enforcement actions executed by US Treasury and can you-get(?) see this attention. Ignoring this will be an intention(?) second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge Auto Bank Judy for the federal criminal(?) on things. My number is 760-298-3949. Again 760-298-3949. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thanks."

Recieved 2 calls from this number yesterday, onehang up and one leaving a very long message in a very heavy Asian accent identifiying himself as Jeff Wathington from the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Treasury urging me to call back asap regarding wanting my current employment information threatening fraud and legal services. I had to listen to the message over 10 times to get that from it ... he talks about legal action under code 6654 and also theatened a homeland security investigation. The message left me a number to call back and when he repeats it, the number is not even the same as he reads off the first time. Pretty scary ...Very, very threatening ... said not to disregard this message and to return the call. Got a different message a month or so back with what sounded like an automated voice and each time it is such a heavy accent it is very difficult to understand... Hope no one falls for this... I am not calling this back! The IRS doesn't contact people in this manner!!!

I got the call from 760-298-3949 from Steve Martin calling form the US Treasury. Same scam as mentioned above.

this number called me 3 times in 1/2 hour.  no messages...  very, very annoying.

I received a call from 760 298-3949 by someone calling himself Steve Martin (although he had a decidedly Mexican accent). He threaten legal action by the U.S. Treasury Department if I did not return his call.

Just got a call from this #760-298-3949. He said we must call him so he could help us or risk the treasury dept coming agter us. Got to be a scam.

Steve Martin, definitely from India, just called and left a message on our machine.  Guess we're going to jail 'cause I'm not calling him back.  I worry that some people may actually believe this stuff.
