Stated: the man (had a slight accent) said his name was Steve Martin and he Is to contact me  for court action with US Treasury re: federal criminal offense and advised me to contact them
Of course, this a bogus scam and income tax season is starting up....so it's scam time

Got same shpeel... When I asked if they were scamming me they said "an officer will appear at my residence" what a crock!!!

Yep got a similar call. Said they were from the treasury and that officers will be at my house in 30 minutes. I asked if she had any idea what the weather is like today. Response was i better be dressed and ready to go in 30 minutes. Very bad scam artist we are in 6 feet of snow right now.

Yes, same here. Rec'd call a t9:02 AM  Slight accent, name is Steve Martin and to contact him US Treasury.  He would like us to cooperate with him. Really! Somebody need to stop these idiots!  What use is the Do Not Call list!  Frustrated

Yep. its just a scam saying you will go to court if you ignore this phone call. It is annoying. called me twice today.

I just got the same message from Steve Martin...so stupid and a waste of my time...had to listen to it three times just to understand him...

Yes..Steve martin called me this morning...imagine my surprise!!! Wow watch out. This is a scam..taxpayers beware. I asked him for a badge # and he hung up on me. He has an accent and says he is from the Dept of the US treasury.

I received a message from Steve Martin too.  I hate scammers!!

Called him back after he left the same message about  US treasury and being arrested.  Wanted my name (didn't get it ) and probably more personal info. He hung up when I told him if he didn't know my name I wasn't going to tell him.

I got the same message only he left it on my voice mail and half way through it got so staticy like a cell phone would.

I also got this call from Steve Martin, Supposed IRS agent (with an east indian accent that wouldn't belong to an american name such as this.)  Surprised it wasn't chevy chase or Bill murray on the line as well!!. what a joke! OBVIOUS scam!  It was an automated message that looped the same message 4 times in a row. Ignore these people and don't give them any money.  This is the second set of fraudsters that have contacted me from supposed IRS dept.  (first was June Taylor at Phone #408-543-9125) They threaten you with arrest, court action, bank acct freezes etc.  But if you help them out (otherwise known as Payment to them via a green dot card or other prepaid cards) then they will help you out (ha ha! you wont be arrested, taken to court, all that jazz)  I am tired of the harassment and I hope they can find and prosecute these scammers who have milked millions out of unsuspecting americans.  The Irs never conducts business in this manner.  You can also report this number  to the REAL treasury dept at www.tigta.gov which is located in washington D.C.

Yep.  I got the same call twice this morning.  Didn't answer the phone, but wanted to and ask the guy when Steve Martin quit the movies and TV

He called twice, the second time I picked up and it is just a recording as I wanted to tell him what an idiot he was.

A person with strong accent claiming to be Steve Martin of the US treasury left a voice mail "urging me to call to avoid federal prosecution"  "I advice you to cooperate with us"  I did not call the number knew it was a scam.  Caller ID sowed the call came from 760-4047-9127 and that was the number left in the message to call.

got two calls this morning about an hour apart--heavy accent, had my name, asked his job title, said he was with the treasury, asked him his badge number, replied right away but when I asked his job title again he just mumbled something about being a treasury employee. Told him interesting, because so was I, and worked for Criminal Investigation, IRS and did he want to discuss further.  He said yes--I hung up.  The IRS DOES NOT CALL--they WRITE, they question/interview, etc., this is a scam.
