- Kim| 7 repliesCalled the number back and it's in regards to purchasing an extended warranty for my vehicle. I am on the Do Not Call list but apparently that doesn't matter. The voice recording allows me to press 2 to be permanently removed. We'll see if that works.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- No Car, No WarrantyWhy are scammers trying to sell me a warranty when I don't own a vehicle. What a waste of our mutual time.
- Caller: Outdated Car Warranty Scammer

- DanI called the number back. Got a recording. Extended warranty for my car. No company name given. I am on the do not call list. Like Kim said on Feb 5, I also pressed 2 to be removed from their list. Hope that works.

- annoyedRobocall from a company trying to sell me an extended warranty (obviously a cold call). When I got a person (brenda) on the line and told her this number was on the do not call list and I would be reporting her she yelled "I'm reporting you too". Report all calls on donotcall.gov!

- Mary| 6 repliesI checked to be sure my cell phone was on the do not call list, it has been for more than 10 years. I also found this info on their site:
"Hang up on illegal sales calls. If your number is on the Registry, and you get a sales call, or you get an illegal robocall, don’t interact in any way. Don’t press buttons to be taken off the call list or to talk to a live person. Doing so will probably lead to more unwanted calls. Instead, hang up and file a complaint with the FTC." - Mary replies to MaryI meant to say I found that info on the donotcall.gov site. I filed a complaint.
- Marty McFly| 4 repliesYes they are offering extended warranties on your vehicle. I get calls often on a car that I have not owned for about 10 years. I ask to get taken off the list every time.
I finally got fed up and started to have some fun with them. On the last call I stayed on the phone and acted very interested in a warranty. I was transferred more then once and was greeted by employees reading from a script. They offered many financing options for a $1200 a year warranty that lasts five years.
I asked the woman (who was reading from a script) if the warranty would cover my "Flux Capacitor." She said she was not sure what a flux capacitor was and would have to find out. She checked her files and determined it had something to do with a USB port and it would be covered. Whew.......lucky me! I told her my mechanic from "M.J. Fox" Auto Repair said it would eventually go bad and would prevent me from going "forward."
She really had no idea it was a joke. Eventually her boss figured it out after I asked for a deal on the financing ($5 a month for 600 months) and he asked if I wanted to be taken off the list. I said that would be great but really doubted if it would ever happen. He said I was wasting his and every employees time........really........that's hilarious......they have been wasting my time.
One week later I get another call.......guess not off the list. I went through the same fun routine with some variations. Eventually they figure it out during the call and abruptly hang up. One time a women asked sarcastically if my "flux capacitor" was fixed and then hung up. My joke made it in to the notes.
So........I started calling them and changing my name and car on file to keep the fun going. After 5 very funny phone sessions they blocked my number and I can't get through! FINALLY.....I win!!!!!!!
My recommendation to you is to ask if the warranty covers a "Flux Capacitor"......it will drive them nuts and you will most likely be taken off the list!!!!
Gotta get back in time........gotta get back in tiiiiiiime- Caller: The won't tell me

- Annoyed Disabled ElderlyThis number called my cell phone on 2/12/2016 and did not leave a message. I'm on DNC list. What an annoyance to rush to the phone for a scam call. They're blocked now.
- Piedmont Observer replies to Mary| 4 repliesFolks, if you have Caller ID and it displays a number that you do not recognize, DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE !
And, these scammers operate outside the law and many times from outside the U.S. ;they are criminals. Why do you think they are concerned about the FTC when many of them are beyond the reach of our laws ?
Any time that I get a call from a number that I don't now, I don't answer it and I never call it back.
I always come to this website to see if the number has been reported and what the comments are. - Terry L.I rec'd a call from this number 1 760-509 8388 11:58 AM

- Second One TodaySecond one today from a warranty scammer. Both to my cell phone. Infuriating but we'll have to live with it. Gave up on the FTC doing anything about these creeps anymore. Maybe later with a new chair at the FTC we'll get some competent enforcement.
- Caller: No CID
- RussellI received a recorded call from 760-509-8388 regarding a supposed expiration of my vehicle's warranty. Both of my vehicles are still under manufacturer's warranty, so they clearly don't know what they are talking about and are just trying to sell expensive "extended warranty" plans.
I am on the do not call list and should not have received this call. I will be reporting this number to the FTC website for unwanted solicitation calls when listed on the Federal Do Not Call list.- Caller: Unknown/Did Not Say
