I just got a message left on my phone about an IRS having a tax warrant out for me since 2010. Then they called back a few minutes later where I picked up. I knew it was wrong. The guy could barely speak English. He then transferred me to another person. He had a heavy accent too. Supposeivly it is the Tresury dartment trying to help me out by informing me I did something wrong with my taxes in 2010. He could not send me the papers to let me know what was going on. But some scary things he knew my address. My name and my Husband's name. So do not be fooled. As I argued with him about why haven't I know about this sooner if it has been a problem since 2010. And Why would my name be the one getting the warrant and not my husband's too if we file together. Then the treat he gave me is that if he does tell me about this without interruption he would send it so the warrant goes out to the police. So his final threat was beach use I was not hearing it, "Fine expect the police at your door to arrest you. " Then he hung up on me. Ohh, did that make me angry. So I looked up what number on my phone it was and started surching out. Scam people. Don't tell them anything. Hang up and search the number. You'll find the truth. Sorry really mad right now.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I want to file a complaint. The caller swore at me when I laughed at his threats. He told me to see him in court. If bullying is not allowed in school these non-Americans should not get away with this. They are exploiting US citizens!

You have to call TIGTA or go to their website to the listed  link for their complaint and /or you can file it with the FTC. I have the instructions posted above to do this.  Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. So not much the Government can do with them unless their governments decide to do-operate and bust them.  Your best bet is a call blocker. ROT, don't pick up for numbers you don't recognize or call back.

A woman caller named Glen Stacy stated she was from the Department of legal affairs and the US department of treasury.  She wanted to speak with my husband and would not speak with myself because of some law stuff that she rambled off but then told me that legal actions are being brought against my husband and said she had sent paperwork to our address (which she knew).  My husband looked this number up online and we found out it was a scam therefore, did not call back.

Almost identical call to one posted a little bit earlier.  A female caller identifying herself as Gwen Stacey stated she was with the Department of Treasury and that there was a legal action against me.  She said documents were sent last month.

Message left on the answering machine "...steven [something], from dept of legal affairs from us treasury." Sounded as if he was on speaker & reading a script & had some sort of foreign accent. I could understand not being able to pronounce our last name but my first name isn't that hard!  I or my legal attorney need to call them back. One call was at 12:46 pm the next at 12:47. I think I will answer if I'm home & them give them the police dept # or look up the # for the FBI.

Received a call similar to others here.  A woman with an accented voice from legally affairs of the U.S. Treasury.  Slight twist was she said that I should have received a letter regarding legal action at P.O. box 790.  I told her I have no P.O. Box and she asked if I wanted another phone number of someone who could discuss the action.  I said no and she used the aforementioned "then we will see you in court"!

Recieved this call and immediately knew it was a scam.  Guy forgot his name half way through the call.  First he said it was AJ then later he said it was Michael.  I called him on it but that didn't seem to phase him.  Said I have a legal tax action against me and that I signed a certified letter from the IRS in January.  I give it a 4 for creativity, but no agency calls and tells you that you have a warrant for whatever.

A man with a very heavy accent called claiming to work for the department of legal affairs at the U.S. treasury. His claim was that there is a law enforcement action that needs my attention immediately. He then threatened that if I refused to call back I should retain an attorney.....bogus

I got a call from an Indian named "Brian Maxwell", I know no indian man who can barely speak English would have a mother who named him Maxwell. He's left two messages about some legal trouble I'm in. I can't wait to speak to him so I can toy with him and give him back a pile of grief.
