Unwanted solicitation from "Janet" stating I called, when I didn't, about lowering my student loan.  I don't have a student loan.

    >> How do I block this stupid number  <<

    Um...
Have you hear of "google" or "bing" or even "yahoo" search engines?
Are you capable of using them?
    And ...
Exactly how is a number "stupid"?
I heard of "even" numbers, and "odd" numbers, "real" numbers, "imaginary" numbers, and even "prime" numbers ... but not "stupid" numbers.

It IS a stupid number!  Problem is they have TONS of numbers! Once they get yours, they don't let up. Even after you tell them you're not interested, they just call from many different numbers.  It's a scam of the highest order.

They call me multiple times in a row and never leave a message. They call. I send to voicemail. They call again within a minute and I send to voicemail again. Never leaves a message.

The chances of Slim NOT being the telemarketer/caller are Slim.

No one would have bothered responding the way you did, if they weren't Slim.

    Right, Slim?

So now you can say you've heard of everything. 😀

Don't be so sure about that.  But it IS nice to know we're having such a deleterious effect on real scammers and shills that we have our own "fan clubs."

    Hi Anonie!

I read that article witn interest.
However, I guess I am not smart enough to appreciate it ... or even comprehend it in its entirety.  It appears the author wants to "think outside the box" that currently limits the use of numbers, and may want to perform certain numeric programming  manipulations such as adding units of length with units of time, and having the computer tell the programmer that is not appropriate (rather than the programmer recognizing the problem before coding it).

The author concludes with the statement, " I did write some code for building smart numbers. However I haven’t used it enough to know where it breaks down."

I guess the author is not smart enough to comprehend his statements fully, either!  (grin)

Did you know that a prime (pun intended) question in the "philosophy of numbers" is "do numbers exist?"
I guess discussing that question is yet another example of Things To Do When Not Otherwise Occupied, or Extremely Bored (grin).  [One of the other "things to do" is troll 800notes to see if the Troll Cafeteria is open for free troll food]
