I agree with Barbara. This person also left this phone number for me when responding to a Craigslist Ad. The wording in the e-mail was sketchy and I also think it's a scam.

The same thing happened to me.  They left this number when responding to a craigslist ad for me too.  I thought it sounded like a scam, so I am ignoring it.

I received the following message in response to a craigslist ad:

Please note United Parcel Service do not deliver to P.O.Box and i will

pick up right after the payment as been delivered.Kindly delete the
posting as am totally committed to buying from you.I recently move
here on a job transfer and this will is a great by for me.Here is my
relay # 765-523-2844  am hearing  impaired and will receive your phone
messages via email ,regards.

The email of the sender was m13drop@gmail.com who claimed to be Mary Smith.

I got the exact email as Dan (above)

I got the exact same email and number regarding a Craigslist posting too.  The email of the sender was jamebaliy123@gmail.com, but the name was still Mary Smith

i got this email also claiming to be from MARY SMITH from jamebaliy123@gmail.com

i sent a message back to jamebaliy123@gmail.com AKA mary smith and told her to have her secretary contact me

great. now why did I not Google this first. I got the same message and sent my info. The only reason I did so was because my name already shows up on my email. If you google my name the address shows up (even though I'm 'unlisted') and I left my cell in the CL post. Guess I'll be expecting a truck to come pick up the items? LOL. I feel had. I was selling couches.
Ireceived the exact message that others listed above.

I received the same messages as everyone else this morning after I listed my items on craigslist and there were 4 seperate emails sent from different email addresses but they all said from Mary Smith and looked like automated answers. I assumed they were scams so I sent an email telling them that I only deal with cash only in person. I can't believe that people are so bored that they like to annoy people like this.

I got the exact same message and send my info.  What in the world can they possibly do with such little information though?  I am NOT selling these couches to this person, that is for sure.

Same as everyone above. Definitely a scam.

This is the second message I've received from these people:

I have since receive the confirmation from my secretary  that the payment as been issued out and was mailed by the courier service .It will be delivered to your address within 2 days from now according to the courier ,but to my greatest surprise the draft was issued out to the sum of $2510 instead of the actual cost of my purchase . She claimed that i requested for that amount to be  issued out to you  but am very sure i only made a request for just the cost of my purchase.This is a terrible mistake and i was just  informed about this so please once  the check is delivered  please take it to your Bank and have it cashed

You will then deduct the cost of my purchase  plus an extra $100 to offset the cost of your run around expenses.The rest of the  fund should be sent to my mover  via western union the same day you  receive the payment so that my mover  can make the trip over for the pick at once. **I will need your immediate response via email assuring me  that i can trust you to handle this with utmost care and  have the remaining fund returned appropriately as requested  and will hope that your intentions remains noble though out the duration of this transaction**

Same message for me to, I gave my cell phone number, I wish I would have never done that!!!!!!! :(

This must be a SCAM! I got the same thing from a Craigslist ad that I placed for a table. Same phone number and same details about a secretary sending a "certified draft".
Don't give them any info!

got the same thing in response to a computer ad for computer repair/virus removal.
i gave my address but what the hell could she do with that. I dont have anything valuable anyway so what should i expect is she going to come rob my house or something. cause if she did that [***] would definately be barking up the wrong [***] tree.


I got your name and address.So be rest assured that the check will be
sent out to you through courier and i will let you know when exactly
it will deliver to you.
One last important thing to note.I want you to know that i got this
contract and i am only sub-contracting it to you which makes it very
important to make sure that all payment arrangements are met as at
when due by all parties involved.
In view of all this i discussed with the project manager and we have
reached a conclusion that all payments for this project should be
issued to you in your name to save time and cost. I will let you have
the tracking number as soon as the check is sent out.
All you will have to do is to receive the check,remove your own amount
as agreed and send the rest to the shipper via western union as i will
instruct you later on.
I want a reassurance from you that you can handle this project and
also that the payment issued to you will be taken care of promptly as
agreed.Issuing the payment together will save both time,stress and
also save cost of additional bank charges on check stock.
