- Suethe call came from someone with an India accent - talking about my computer Windows
- ScammedTHIS IS A "DEAD" NUMBER USED BY SOPHISTICATED COMPUTER SCAMMERS. SEEMS LIKE A LEGITIMATE DELL REP, (I HAVE TALKED TO LEGIT STAFF BEFORE). BUT I FORGOT THE FIRST RULE: UNLESS YOU CALL THEM, IT IS A SCAM. THIS SCAMMER TRIED TO GET $300 FROM ME/"CRASHED" MY COMPUTER WHEN I DIDN'T PAY UP. I CONTACTED DELL AT A LEGIT NUMBER I HAD; THEY FIXED MY PROBLEMS.
- granny| 1 replycall came in this morning from this number and informed my husband that his computer was infected. My husband told him he was a scammer (we have owned a computer business and have done tech work). The man, with an Asian accent did hang up...and my husband's computer is now crashed...
- DMZI've received several calls lately, but no connection is made after I answer the phone.
- Nj replies to grannyFinish what do you mean they crashed your computer?
- J| 2 repliesUnwanted calls
- NJ replies to J| 1 replyThey have called 4 times today only home for 1 of course India guy could not answer anything said several naughty words and he hung. I wonder why they are all foreign? America.
- Mike-in-MD replies to NJit's cheap to purchase a Magic Jack number in India or other country that can be used for unlimited calling to the US with a fake US number. So the majority of these scammers are operating from outside the US.
- JerseyHow do we make it stop. They called 6 times yesterday until late last night i answered the phone and asked them to stop calling. Wont know yet vif they stop or not. Again with a strong accent talking about computer.
- BevThey called four times yesterday but left no message and just called at 8:40 a.m.!!! We put a block on the number. Thanks for the posts-figured it was a scam. Watch out for the IRS calls also.
- VitoGIANT SCAM. HANG UP & Report/block the number. Three of my family members and I have had several phone calls from these folks over the past few months. They change their name/story/company every time. It is a very well constructed hack/scam/con system ( I had to recover my grandparents' computers from this once). GIVE THEM NO INFORMATION.PERIOD. Depending on the fluency of the caller's English, they can sound very convincing, however, it is a giant phishing scam where they not only steal your identity but try and hijack your computer (via hacking/trojan software they will have you install) and ransom it back to you (under the ruse of repairing it) for anywhere from $150-$600. REPORT THIS NUMBER.

- DaynaUsually the caller ID says (Unavailable 1) but now this number shows. These are people from India and other parts of the world. Acting like they want to fix your windows computer... But what they really want is to gain remote access to your computer to maybe steal banking, email, and all kinds of information.
Whenever you get a call claiming they work for windows or want to fix your computer simply hang up. (Scammers)- Caller: Unknown scammers
- eintersting as I got 3 calls this eve from this # they never say anything but I have a dell I use . wouldnt let them call me with that anyway
- Brian Dean| 1 replySomeone (with an Indian accent) called my house from "Name Unavailable" this morning at 8:30 claiming to be from Microsoft. (The only reason I answered it was that this was the third time they had called and I was not happy being called this early on a Saturday.) They told me that they had registered that my Windows computer had viruses and was spreading them all over the place. They wanted me to sit in front of my computer and do some things. I asked which computer, and they told me my Windows computer. I have three computers that run three versions of the Windows operating system. I asked which operating system they were concerned about figuring that if they had actually logged the operating system, they should know. And to tell me that one of my computers had a problem, but it didn't matter which one I went to to fix it also told me this was bogus. I kept asking which operating system and they kept telling me the Windows computer.
Obviously this is a phishing scam. They are looking for some sucker to set up something on their computer to give them access to their personal information. Avoid this at all costs. If this came in email, you wouldn't believe it. Don't believe it just because they call your house.- Caller: Unknown. Claimed to be Microsoft

- ScammersI received a call early t hi morningt fronm 768 787 8767 from a female with an Asian accent. I knew right away it was a scam but it concerned me that she asked for me by name. My phone # is unlisted. Worrisome. Anyway, she said something about my computer being messed up and I pretended to be shocked. I said, "REALLY?" I wanted to see how far she would take it and what she was up to. She said, yes, and started to say something else,. I interrupted her and said, "I can't talk to you now but give me your number and I call right back" She rattled off a number and I said, "Say that again.," She said, "I said it once," I said, "I didn't understand you." Her response was, in a nasty tone, "That's your fault."

Despite the fact that I don't have Windows because I have a Mac, I was called by one of these scammers this morning (from the following telephone number 768-787-8767). He had an Indian or Pakistani accent and gave me the spiel about being a tech support person from Windows Support. I told him I was so pleased to hear from him and asked him if he was part of the computer scam. Somehow or other we were disconnected.
Later the same man called but the phone number was blocked. He again went into his spiel saying that Windows Support had been notified that I had a computer problem that they could investigate and fix. I asked him how they heard about my computer since I have a Mac and don’t use Windows and once again we were disconnected.- Caller: Scammer
