just called me.  NY cell #.  called back and got msg stating "due to emergency servies, we are unable to take your call..."   [***].

they call both home and cell and not msg

Just got the call on my cell.  Said they were Verizon wireless and wanted to verify my mailing address.  Seemed fishy.

They called me saying they were from Verizon and verifying an address too.  I asked for his name and employee ID and he said he was Carl at 945-062.  Seemed fishy to me too.

I called Verizon and asked about Carl and it turns out he actually is a Verizon employee located near Atlanta, GA.  I guess these callers make cold calls to Verizon customers to confirm addresses and upgrade text message services.  I thought it was fishy, but it turns out it's not.  No worries on this phone number anymore.

I got this as well, "due to emergency servies, we are unable to take your call..."  I wonder about the validity of an anonymous poster who provides a "no worries on this phone number anymore."  The two DON"T add up.

got a call from this number on my Work phone of all things...don't know how they got a hold of that???  very invasive...left no message...

Called me at 1:38p 10/27/2009...no VM left

keeps calling me. different times of the day each time. Never leaves a message. Call keeps hanging up on me before someone answers. Have no idea who it is.

I just had this number call and when I called it back an automated message said it was Verizon but it hung up half way through the sentence.

They just called my cell phone, I hung up after realizing it was some sort of telemarketer, they haven't called back yet.

That number called me. Said it was verizon. Hung up with them and called verizon. They verified that it in fact was a verizon number calling to update my address. It's legit.

Got a call from this number, have gotten them in the past.  No caller on other end. Called it and got connected to interstitial music, music died, no one ever came on the other end.  Hung up after 20 seconds.

cheesy sounding recording that says something about verizon.. guess it is legit, but they have no need to call my cell to verify anything.

Received this call yesterday... used *611 today to find out if they were really Verizon. I was told that Verizon DID call me the previous day to verify address information. I stated I was surprised because I had started to give my address and then stopped... telling them that if they were really Verizon, they already had that information and I could verify what they have. She couldn't give me the address so I hung up. I inquired about this today and CS stated they aren't allowed to give out information and that she understands why that would send up red flags and that it's perfectly acceptable to call them to verify the information instead of giving it then... since there are so many scams out there today. So, this IS a Verizon phone number and it IS a LEGIT call.

I have been getting calls from this number too and everytime there is no message

i'm getting calls from this number and from 770-250-0441, neither are leaving messages and when i call back, i reach an automative message about mobile service with music, that cuts off everytime after ten seconds.  my issue is, if this is really verizon, why aren't they leaving messages?  i never answer numbers i don't know, anytime that verizon has called me in the past, they have left a message.  my other question is why is someone from the atlanta area calling me?  i'm in florida, i usually deal with someone in the same state at least.  hopefully this situation gets resolved soon.

Keep getting calls from this number on our cell phones.  Look up says the number belongs to Marietta Georgia ... someone/something ....

I am contacting the service provider to have their service terminated.

RATIONALE:  Based on the number and type of comments of a similar nature and based on the fact that we are on the National Do Not Call Register.  Since the user cannot be reached in an effort to terminate the calls in a "gentle" manner ... service termination request is the next step.

Hope we will all enjoy cell service free of harrassment in the very near future.
