- | 2 replies770-294-6240 A call came in showing this number on my CID indicating WIRELESS CALLER.
I played along with the caller who said he was calling from Microsoft regarding my computer being infected. Supposedly the company name is PC Help & Support located in Alexandria VA. Of course its not really a call from their. The person had a heavy thick accent, couldn't detect it's origin but when I asked, he hemmed & hawed but said his forefathers were from Nigeria. He said I sounded suspicious of him, asked him if I need to be suspicious. I told him I couldn't get to my computer as he wanted to instruct me what to do. But I insisted he give me the instructions. He told me to type in RUN PROGRAMS, the word EVENTVWR. He really wanted to do it himself with me at the computer.
Google EVENTVWR & you will get info about the scam.- Caller: PC HELP & SUPPORT

- CindySame thing for me and I noticed this number called me twice last week and this morning. A guy with a heavy accent said am I near my computer, he is getting reports that I have malicious spyware being downloaded that is harming my computer. And I said ok which one because I have several. I also said how do I know you are from Microsoft and he said because ma'am we have received notification that your computer is having issues because it is sending us alerts from the program and I said well why don't you email me then because I am not at my computer right now and busy and he said ok he would do that. Also, he said because we are Microsoft and we are the manufactures of the computer, yeah right they aren't the manufacturer, just their software is. Dummy.

- Tamianth replies to Olga800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
