the voice now is a computer and they ask for you Bank Checking routing code and checking number.
With that, they can empty your checking account number.

Nate - 26 Jun 2008I got a call this evening. I had applied for a auto loan on line and have been receiving numerous calls which I have decided not to answer. The caller from this number did not leave a message. I am glad I looked the number up on the Internet. BEWARE!

Mishka-New York & Washington DC - 28 Jun 2008Well I never applied for an auto loan and so when I picked up and heard some guy talking about being 'approved' for one--I was like 'what the f**k?'. They've called my phone several times and so this time I opted to pick up and see what the deal was--and when I demanded how the hell they got my damn information, what this was all about--first, he attempted to continue talking over me about all the crap they offered, etc, so I hung up before they transferred me to the 'processing department'.

marcy2485 - 1 Jul 2008During the last week I have received on average 2 to 3 calls per day. Each time I pick up I get nothing but silence. I tied calling back, but the message that played is so garbled you can't understand anything. I have reported each and every incident to the FTC. I didn't apply for anything and am on the DO NOT CALL registry.
