- Don RyanWho wants me?
- boonkI guy said I, or someone filled out a form to win a Ford Explorer in my name. I won, and I had the choice of the car, a cash option or something else. He told me I did not need to purchase anything, and told me to write down some conformation number so I could go claim my prize in Cocoa Beach. I hung up on him. I have been on a massive job hunt, so I am sure they picked up my number off some scam job site.
- ColdCalleeReceived a call today on my cellphone that went to voicemail. They left the following message. They had my name and number, but I don't trust it so I'm not returning the call. The name of his company was a little muffled, so I could be wrong on that part of the transcript.
Message Transcript:
Hi this is Julian calling from the [Chrysler Filming Center] (muffled). I was calling regarding the contest submission form that you had filled out online. Um. To win a new car within the last four to eighteen months. This will be my final attempt to notify you that your name was pulled as a winner and we are going to award you one of our top three major prizes. It will be in your best interest to give me a call back as soon as possible. My number is toll free at 877-279-3457 extension 135. We are not a telemarketing agency or a timeshare. This is not a cold call. So please do not ignore this message. I'm very aware of the do not call list so I won't be calling you, [name omitted], unless you actually entered. This is a time sensitive matter so I do look forward to hearing from you. Once again, congratulations [name omitted] and my name is Julian. - RTGot this call on 14 january. Caller says she's with prize fullment center and the title of the place was kind of hard to hear. Was told to call 877-279-3457, x106, name was Shakoor or something like that. The cue card she was reading from went like this...

- JWCalled my cell with the same song and dance as above. They wanted to verify my information and was I still married, etc...I said never been married (I fear I just gave them more ammo to call me at a later date) then once the information turned out to be inaccurate this chick wanted to know if I knew someone trustworthy enough with the correct stats that could pick up the price for me. Seriously, I have no friends what-so-ever...oh well.
- Caller: unknown
- RobI received a call w/ basically the same info described above telling me I was a winner of a vehicle from an online entry. The message was left on my voice mail. The number in my caller ID was 773-358-1470 from Mitchell Communications. I could hear other callers in the background...like a busy tele-marketing call center (although they also stated they were not a tele-mktg firm)
- Caller: Michell Communications
- ReddReceived back to back calls from this numbe first asking for margaret and then jill. sounds like scam to me tryin gto validate phone. Didn't give them any info whatsoever.

- ANONJust received a call from 773-358-1470. Caller said he was informing me that I just won either a new Suburu or cash prize from the contest I entered via the internet eighteen months ago. I told him I had no memory of entering any contest on line and that I normally wouldn't do that. He then proceeded to recite my e-mail address, my mailing address, age, and income and asked me to confirm (which I DID NOT). I immediately hung up. I have no idea where he got this information, but it was definitely not from any contest!!!!!
My caller id had the above number and said "Mitchell Communications". I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Also, I intend to report this to the Attorney General's Office and the FCC.- Caller: Mitchell Communication
- rare*flukeGot this call today and one yesterday from a different number and with a different caller. Both had the same basic message and both were reported to FCC. Yesterday's call was from "Tony" at 708-833-8727 then today's from "Ciera" or Sierra" number 773-358-1470. Both had a call back number of 1-877-279-3457. My caller ID listed yesterday's call as being from Communication G and todays call was listed as Illinois Call. When looking up the other phone numbers, there is a long list of numbers associated with them and scanning through the posts I have noticed at least 4 different caller names so this is more than a 1 man operation.
- Caller: Illinois Call
- DianeOver the past few weeks we have received about seven calls at least from a variety of these people, male and female. We let our answering machine get it. We are always promised a car that we registered for 12-18 months ago. My husband and I never enter contests to avoid these problems. We also are on the do not call list and will report this.
- C O'BReceived a call that I had won either a Ford Explorer or $27,000 cash. She wanted to verify my address. The one she had I had not lived at in 3 1/2 years. I told her to take my name and phone number off their list and she said don't you want your prize and I said NO. I had to tell her 4 times to remove me from their calling list. She said well I will have to give your prize to the next name on the list. I said go right ahead. We have not entered any contest and are on the Do not call list. Its always on our Cell phone because we do not have a land line. I thought we would avoid this crap by having a cell only.

- C O'BJust called me again AFTER I requested they don't earlier today. I called the number back. Spoke to 3 people before I finally got a gentleman who said he would take me off their list. I told them I have been on the DO NOT CALL list since I have had this number and asked him where he got my name and number. He said I filled out a form. I never did. I still haven't lived at the address they have since 12/2006. That's a long time to wait to win a contest.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jwsYep, I got the same call, informing me that I had won a car. When I told her I didn't believe her, she said that her company didn't have time to do anything like that. Can we do anything to these people? We have their number, can't the FBI do anything? If these people are calling to get information on people they can be stopped can't they? They said who they were, but I don't remember.
- jws| 1 replyOk I looked up the area code and it's in Chicago. I called the Chicago police department and they said that the police aren't going to do anything about that. I said, "well who do I need to talk to about this?" and she said, "uh, noone." I was without words. Apparently its legal to do these sorts of things.
- not Michael replies to jwsMore likely - the Chicago police are too busy catching murders and other violent criminals to spend time trying to catch scammers.
- BillJust got a call from them... Unfortunately they got my voicemail so I didn't get to have any fun.... But it was only the prize fulfillment center. Yippie I may have won a car that I never registered to win. And since it's time sensitive (hmm, took them 12-18 months to notify me) so I have to call them back... Yea right, maybe in 12-18 months I'll think about doing just that (if I remember). Oh, the entire message, other than the name, extension and co name was word for word what others have reported.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TraceyYeah, first they tell me that I won 2010 Lincoln Navigator or 40,000 dollars in cash, a trip and something else that I could remember, What I do remember is the girl's name is Shauntel. So, I ask them is this a joke or something? She tells me that this is no joke mam, I wouldn't joke about something like this, then she mention something about a husband, and I said I am divorced, she turns around and says that I am not aloud to claim the prize because of this....So the key thing that everyone needs to know is that if I filled out this form a year ago, and I got divorced in 2002, why would I say I was still married when I am not...she actually hung up on me....I immediately called them back and let them know that I was reporting their a@#, for a scam. And it sounded like Prize fulfillment center (muffled).
