- m| 4 repliesCalled and left a vm. Obvious foreign accent stated I was flagged for tax fraud? Said his name was Mark Jones and I needed to call him before the situation got worse and he wished me best of luck. All of my taxes were on time and done correctly so sounds like a scam to me! Don't give him any information.
- HarrySimillar call as "m" above, but he claimed to be Robert Watson from IRS, Tax and Audit Department. Claimed they had mailed me a letter, but it was returned. When I asked him -- He didn't know the IRS's Agency name. The IRS uses the federal department name because irs could be misleading
- Caller: unknown - claimed irs
- J| 1 replySame as thise above. Gave name as Mark Jones. When I called back and told him I was going to report them he hung up.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Note that the IRS will never: 1) call to demand immediate payment, nor will the agency call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill; 2) demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe; 3) require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes, such as a prepaid debit card; 4) ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone; or 5) threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying.- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- SharonGot two calls from Mark Jones regarding my tax fraud/evasion case. I reported them to the FTC.
- lbSame as other callers. He has called and left messages a few times.

- ConnieGot a voice mail same as other callers. I happen to work for a police department so I used the department phone to call back hoping they would see the caller id! Said he wanted to get some information but I said I needed some information from him before responding to any questions. He said he was Mark Davis from IRS. I said I was under the impression that the IRS did not make phone calls - he said ok and hung up!! Guess that's that!

- Unknown replies to KThey've called a few times and LM but today finally got me. Claiming this time I have criminal issues, etc. told him I have no issue and he's a scammer and remove my number. They have my real name and I'm
not even listed on the phone book. Go figure. Sounded East Indian or something like the accent of those calling about computer protection with Microsoft software, etc. Who would give that access to their computer with this MO? With so many hackers milling about without giving any info, then entrusting to phone caller with heavy accent? Insane how our personal information can be accessed just like that. BEWARE!!! - Rr replies to mgot the same intimidating Mark Jones call on my voicemail. I disregarded it because my taxes are in order. Who can we contact to stop these criminals?
- KristenSame thing as all of you, tax fraud.. yada yada yada.... when I told them it was a scam the guy proceeded to tell me my own address and that he was personally coming to see me to end my life. They have now called me 6 times. I'm filing a report.
- Caller: JOE from the IRS
- Call type: Prank
- caligirl805 replies to mI just received the same message from a gentleman that had a foreign accent as well stating to me that I needed to call as soon as possible with my attorney about being caught for Tax fraud. I refuse to give this man a call because it sounded like a scam and now that I know it's a Scam I have deleted off my phone and blocked the number.
