We lost our laptop computer and this guy claimed he was Calvin Harris and he found our computer. He described it and said he had his money stolen and driver license was stolen because he is a truck driver, that he will send back if we paid for shipping. He asked for $47.00 to ship it and so we went to Wal-Mart's and MoneyGram it. Now he has our computer and our money and now he wants more money. Police says he scamming us and nobody will help us.

I had some property stolen from my garage, including golf clubs, pressure washer, compressor. saws, etc.  I placed an ad in the San Antonio paper the next day and a man using the phone number 773-403-9864 called me that afternoon saying that he was a truck driver.  He said he bought some of this equipment from an individual at a gas station in San Antonio and that he was now in Oklahoma City and would mail the stuff back to me.  He calls back and said the cost was $78 to ship it back to me.  He said he didn't have the $78, but his friend in St. Louis named John Houston paid the shipper with his credit card and he wanted me to go to a Western Union and wire the money to his friend in St. Louis.  Once confirmed, he would go ahead and ship it.  I (stupidly) did that, knowing it might be a scam.  This guy had the nerve to call me back the next day and left me a message that he was arranging for other friends to send some of the other equipment to me.  Obviously, I will not respond again!!  Beware of this phone number, 773-403-9864, the truck driver idea, and the request to send money for shipping.  It is a scam.

well I just got hit from the same number - lost my jewelry case at the Memphis airport and Calvin Roth claimed he had it - got a long story - but wish I would have read this before I sent the 65.00 for the return of the Jewelry.....

My grandmother lost her wedding ring weeks ago in AZ.  She placed an ad in the paper specifying that she was looking for it and that there would be a reward. She received a voicemail from a hard to understand man who left the phone number (773)403-9864 He said his name was James and if she sent the reward money he would send her the ring.  I called his number a few times only to hear a generic voicemails and no call backs.  Now I see that it is a SCAM!!!

We had a similar situation, from a couple different numbers.  the guy first said he was James, then during the same call he changed his name to Steve Parker.  Some woman had called three weeks before and left a number we tried, but it was a wrong number.  He said that was his wife, they had bought our ring for $85 while passing through.  She tried to call us, why didn't we call back, etc.  He kept asking why we didnt' call back.  He wanted us to send $22 through a truck stop somehow to him, claimed he was a long haul trucker and was always on the road, but we could not meet him anywhere.  I was on to him and called him on it, got him a little scared that we were tracing the number and coming to find him.  He eventually got very angry and said we couldn't do anything to him, but he hung up quickly and is scared running now.  Keep calling him back on this number!!!
