called claiming he found my lost grandfathers ring which i posted an add on craigs list about. upon hearing it was my ring and not a mans he refused to give it back. agressive phone language and simply malicious. i just pray he never found it at all, since i'd hate to imagine it with such a hateful person.

called to ask if anyone was missing a laptop and camera (I am it was stolen a few days ago together with a few other things). Claims he "bought" them from someone but refused to discuss anything, was rude, and eventually hung up.
I called back the number 10min later, asking what he wanted. He argued I was asking too many questions and he hung up again.

Since it is the second call in NYC in a few days from that number, I am now wondering if he is really reselling or simply fishing for information.

Common denominator between previous posts: we both left a phone number with a reward in a craigslist add. The caller probably has nothing to offer in fact, just looking for the reward.

My laptop was stolen from my car in San Francisco, smash & grab-style about 2 weeks ago. I posted it on craigslist (like the other 2 posters). Thanks to this site, I can be pretty sure that it was a hoax. He seemed annoyed by the fact that I wasn't more grateful for his call. He called me back twice, more annoyed each time. He never really said what he wanted, despite offering him money, etc.. One thing that was odd was that he kept asking me to describe the laptop - like he was the curator of a lost & found. Ha ha ha... Nut job.

His cell phone number comes back to a Chicago, Illinois Sprint cell phone, according to http://www.fonefinder.net/findome.php.
