- Puerto RicoAnother thing the do is call, let it ring once or twice and hang up. Are they expecting a return call?

- Connieno message left, from the other posts it looks like this is the annoying guy with strong (Indian?) accent who calls trying to sell me web services. I have asked repeatedly to be taken off his list.
- MiroI received a call from 773-516-5844 stating that I needed a web disign. Another 'background voice" directing the caller what to say ... a foriegn accent ... & no knowledge of web design nor my 13 year old web site ... very very strange ... I demanded that they "Never call me Again" ... !!!

- leapy12I get a call from this number once or twice a month, marketing for vacation rental website. We have a property listed on a reputable site and the one time I did answer this call I relayed that information to the foreign sounding person on the other end. I've also told him NOT to call my number again, but it seems not to matter. I am also on the NDNC list.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mr. BungleJust got a call from 773-516-5844. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I'll be ready for him next time.

- snickersAnswered when they called. Seems they go to vacation rental websites and take phone number off that. I told him I was not interested. I think Verizon can block this phone number, not too sure. He wanted me to recommend him to others that might be interested in their services. I would never refer a company I know nothing about! What idiots!
- SallyJust got a call from this number, but they left no message. From reading above posts, I assume it was telemarketing about my vacation rental. Glad I didn't answer!
- Linda| 1 reply"John" called last night. He got the number from our Home Away post. It did seem to be about web design, but he has such a thick accent and aggressive manner .. if it is web design (and not a scam) .. he needs help with his cold call technique! I was polite but firm, refused, of course, to give him any personal info. He finally said "are you happy (with your website)?" ... I said "yes" and it felt like he gave up. We'll see.

- Mack replies to LindaI've dealt with these guys in the past. They get your name from HomeAway and try with some BS promo that is a total scam. There was a site that had reviews from people who actually paid them and got nothing in terms of business (but I can't remember).
Having been a cold caller years ago, I learned that the worst thing you can do to them is waste their time, so one thing to do is keep making appointments for them to call back when you know you won't be there. Also, DEMAND their real names and where they are calling from, if they refuse and insist that their real name is George Washington calling from Chicago, which they will, scream HOW CAN WE ESTABLISH A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WHEN YOU WANT TO BEGIN IT WITH A LIE! - resI just received a call from this number as well. It's someone with an Indian accent trying to sell something. I informed him that this is a cell number and he is not to call again. I then immediately filed a complaint with the do not call registry as calling cell numbers is a no-no. BTW, you don't need to have your cell on the do not call list--it's already illegal to call them for telemarketing purposes. The next time you receive a similar call, head to this site and file a complaint: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

- Jimmy replies to KiwiThanks for posting, I won't bother answering!
- GeorgiaOk, like many of you, I too have vacation rentals (9) on various "by-owner" sites and I get these calls enough that I have made a note of their various numbers, posted them on a "Do Not Answer" list on my desktop scratch pad. If caller ID gives just a location and no business or personal name, I'm suspect right away. So I let it go to VM then check for messages (the only time there is a message is when they are using a taped message) so I go on here to check the "800 Notes" and when my suspitions are confirmed that they are scammers, telemarketers, whatever, I add their number to the "Blocked Numbers" list with my phone carrier (Windstream) who allows up to 30 numbers in your cache. I've exceeded that number many times so by now I have to go in and delete an old number to make room for the new offender. Most of the time it's easier and more productive if I quickly check my desktop list to see if I recognize the number and if it's there, just pick up the receiver and immediately drop it back in the cradle without ever engaging in any conversation. I personally won't give them the satisfaction of confirming if this is my number or not and surely won't enter into any discussion with them. That's how you get stuck being called back. They usually give up after one or two hang-ups without any contact. It's like the "unsubscribe" option on spam emails that lures you into thinking you're opting out of future spam but all you're really doing is confirming receipt and you'll get more spam from others as well. It's a jungle out there, folks! Don't give them an inch!

- HelenaThis is Johnny with Vacation Rentals Experts, that's the message I received, I hung up immediately. I too have rental listings on HomeAway and VRBO, they seem to think it is ok to solicit, well it's not. just add them to your "junk" listing.
- Caller: VR LISTINGS (vacation rentals)
- kiwiThey called me 3 times. I was trying to tell them I didn't need a web design and don't call me again. They didn't let me finish and hunged up.
