On my caller id is says AMC dont know who they are ..they called yesterday at another number which is 815-893-1955 they didnt leave a message at either number ..most likely a scam..

Allstate motor club

Caller ID was "AMC" and called at 9:43 AM. Left no message. If it is Allstate Motor Club as per a message above then we are not members and there should be no reason for their call.

Allstate Motor Club.  Called trying to sign us up for their service.  I told him we were already members through my insurance policy, so he went into the spiel about their other savings their "different" plan provides besides roadside.  Had to tell him no so many times my husband came into the room to see if he needed to take the phone and tell the guy we weren't interested.

No message was left.  I'm non-published and have been on the DO NOT CALL list forever, which obviously does no good as I get some sort of BS call EVERY DAY!  Argh!!!

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

I received a call from this number and apparently it's from Allstate Motor Club. Coincidentally I received a letter in the mail the week before asking if I wanted to get a membership for road assistance or something like that. It's getting kind of annoying.

Call from Allstate Motor Club, left message on voice mail that said to "...press 5 to be removed from motor club call list", might have to try that next time, which I'm sure will happen soon enough.

Noticed a missed call from this number and found that I'm not the only one. No one has time for this!

Don't like to be solicited, I already have insurance.

Calls from 10 different numbers at all hours of the day 1-321-209-7122 is one. of the numbers. all most into harassment amount of calls I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND IT SAMES TO NOT MATTER.

So you are saying that AllState is not a legitimate telemarketing business? I think you are full of crap on that one, but on the rest of your comment is spot on.  If you have EVER done any business with AllState, they have the right to keep calling. They just called me from this number, I politely asked them to remove me from their list and she said she would do so. I do not have their insurance coverage and they can't save me any money. We verified that before the switch to Geico. As far as Esurance saving you twice the money in half the time, that's a crock too.

Actually that is not true! The law changed last year (2013). And even if you did do business with them, if they are told to stop calling and place you on their internal DNC list, they must comply!

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

IDK about anyone else but I just added them to my call reject list on my cell phone. I have a galaxy S5 but nearly all cell phones have this feature. I just add #'s that I don't know to that list and the call doesn't even come through. It just shows up on your call log as rejected. No bother.

They called me a second time from this number. No one spoke on the other line. Hello, hello, no answer. annoying, indeed.

It was a pre-recorded message claiming to be Allstate Motor Club.  They were advertising.  I am on the no-call list, so if they were a legit company, or really associated with THE Allstate company, then they would not have called.
