Just got the same call - of course, no message left. Caller ID said "Smart, Education"

same just happened here ????????

They've called my home 3 times now and each time they say nothing until I finally hang up after 3-4 hellos'...Have reported them as we are on the DNC list.

Have been receiving calls from this number for several days now.  Must be a computer dialing because there isn't anyone on the line and I'm not going to wait to find out who it is.  We are on the DNC list, too.

Just got a call from them, they asked if (and using my first and last name) my parents were home, i started to say no on is home (only got to "no one") and asked why they called but the guy said they would call back later then hung up.
so i called the number back, got a voicemail saying it was Smart Education.

they just called my house saying is(my name) parents home.and i said no and the guy said he would call back later and hung up.im on the no call list too.

This is a bogus credit card rate-reduction scam, and they are flooding our area, with these obnoxious solicitations.  The message says "press-9" to be connected to a representative, while the line is live.

The guy finally spoke up after I said Hello 3 times and wanted to speak with the parents of (my daughter's name) regarding PSAT and SAT exams. He claimed to be a non-profit and said his name was Phil Marrese. He is actually selling (for $199) some kind of DVD to prepare for the SAT exam. I can't figure out how he got my daughter's name and how could he really be a non-profit.

Did all of you have children who took the PSAT?  That may be the cause.  The exam asked for my phone number and asked if I wanted to recieve information to study for the SAT.  I gave my number and said yes.

I got this call this morning. The lady asked if (my middle son)'s parents were home. I told her I was she. The lady started giving me the schpeel that they could help my son get scholarships, help him get better scores on SATs and ACTs. I asked where they got my son's name. I was told he must have signed up at some career planning place. I told them we homeschool and my son had not been to any such place. That was ignored. I was waiting for the price tag and when I was told I was getting $100 off and it would cost 'just' $189, I said we could not afford that. The lady said " Ok, if you don't want to invest in your son...." She said that three times. I went to answer her, "I do..." but she hung up before I could finish. I hit caller ID and talk so it would call the number. It was busy so I did it again and this time it rang; for a very long time. Finally a guy answered, I said I would like to put in a complaint; he said "just a moment". When the guy came to the phone it sounded like the same guy and when I asked him for his name he said David. I asked what position he holds at the company; he said "owner of the company". Yea, sure. Anyway, he finally said he knew who had called me (I think he always did know but acted as if he couldn't find out at first) It did appear to be a scam. I am going to check out the person's link about this being a scam. I am also going to contact the gov. link that is on their site for people to fill out forms to get scholarships. I think that is one way of getting people's information cause "FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
SEF recommends that ALL students fill out this form. No exceptions.

This is a scam! please everyone do not fall into this trap! this comapny is linked to college prep center , American Education Foundation , University Prep Center and Collegiate prep center (they recently changed there name from Collegiate Prep center to smart education foundation. The owner is David Mishel and his sidekick is David Desanto! go ahead call them up and tell them you want your money back! One more thing the 866-343-6754 customer service line is university prep centers customer service number and does not work. so call 773-698-6064 or 773-698-6989
