Got the same type of number from Chicago Law Firm...these people are scam artists

Said they were a Chicago lawfirm... claiming I have a loan that the company was not able to collect payment for and that I was being sued.... I told them... first of all... my loan comes out on payday so there isnt a missed payment. .. second of all im not stupid and ur a scammer....  its gotten si bad that if someone calls me wit an Iraqi accent I hang up.

This is an important message this is Brian Shepard from Chicago law firm we are calling you to about your loan and you are being investigate, we didn't get any loan. Please call us back as soon as you get this message, I figured this is not true. They need to be stopped.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Received a message from Brian Shepherd of Chicago Law Firm saying a file was being downloaded against me in my local sheriff's office and I was being served. See others were scammed too. This is a load of crap and they are scammers. Do not give them any money!

My son was just called today by a David Mendez wih a very heavy Indian accent and told him if he didn't show up in Sacramento county court tomorrow he would be thrown in jail.  I called this man and called him out.  Told him he was full of crap! He couldn't give me any information other than CashUSA said he owed them money.  This is huge SCAM!!!!!!

I was also scammed by a David Mendez saying I was in default for a payday advance, which was supposedly borrowed from Cash Advance America. Mr. Mendez said he was an Attorney with the Bowden Law firm and that I was in Big Legal trouble unless I paid my defaulted loan, ( possibly going to jail ). This guy and all the people I spoke with were very savvy to a lot of my personal information, so believable I paid the outstanding loan, ( via Green Dot of course ) what an idiot I am. I can't believe I fell for this scam, please beware of anything that just does'nt feel or seem right. This will not happen again !!!!!!!!!!!  Have a nice day.

just received a message at my work treatening coming after me.  the man's name was robert smith and some law office.  Could barely understand him as he spoke with a very heavy indian accent as well as alot of static background noise.  They are scammers.

I got a phone call today.  From a Jame Brown from Chicago law firm.  This was from a paid day loan.  That I never took. One year ago.  He had an Indian accent. He told me I have to pay twice the amount of the loan. If I defer this I would be summoned to court. I check with my bank know amount of that loan or who it was though ever went into my account that month.  I call him back to get more info and he hung up on me. After that I got busy signal when trying to call him back.

I received a call saying that they needed to speak to me or my legal retainer. We called back explained that they could fax the information to a police department for my retainer they decided against it.

I just got a call from these people.brian shepard. Saying to appear in court on monday in Sacramento. For failure to pay the loan no loan by the way so dont bielieve it its a scam they threatened me to levy my paycheck lol

I applied last week over the internet for a personal loan till i got paid for $300.00. Unfortunately you give your information over teh internet and then they are supposed to supply it to lenders. Brian Sheperd contacted me from this # at home and now at work. I informed him when he contacted me at home that I have no bad debt and to stop calling me. I blocked his #. Today, he called me at work and again informed him I have no bad debt. I had the same caller over and over, stating they are from a Chicago law firm, but he would not say the name of the company. Also he said that if I did not call by this afternoon, he will notify the courts in California to post an arrest or fraudulent suit, could not under stand his foreign accent (possibly Indian or Malaysian), and he did not give his name.  If you see that number, hang up.  Who knows when anyone really catch these bad people.

I recieved a call threatening court action if I didn't call immediatelly but I looked up the number and found out who these liers are. Who can they be reported to? I told the gentleman MR. David Mendez not to call me and he began to get nasty and began calling me names to which I replied in kind and hung up.We need to find a way to shut these people down. Aren't they misrepresenting themselves as a legal entity ?

Recieved numerous calls & voicemails from "Martin" from a Chicago law firm saying I defaulted on a payday loan saying ion being sued & if I didn't pay off loan I m going to jail
They spoke with heavy Indian accent
I decided to call back and screw with them knowing it was a scam
I used my "Indian" voice & told him to get Babu on the phone & called them on it
Let them know I filed detailed report with FBI
ICE report.& told "Babu" this & he was speaking [***] to me!
They cursed and hung up these fools are desperate & relentless & sad to say ppl are falling for it & these Indian pricks are making $$ on gullible ppl cuz they do have info

This is James Brown from attorney's office, there is a legal case against my social security number, if we do not here from you or your attorney you will be arrested. Yea right and I am still sitting at work, working away, this is nothing but a scam trying to scare you into giving them money
