- KimI keep getting calls AT WORK from this number regarding "my warrantee on my car is expiring soon" or "I just won a flat screen tv & Bahamas vacation", when it opts me to press 9 to no longer receive calls, it just hangs up. I called the number back & I get a msg of apology that they only call business numbers & if we want the number removed to press 1. I pressed 1 and the msg was repeated. Just one big circle. So annoying!!!
- HeidiI got a call this morning from this number on my cell phone - I didn't listen to the message as I have gotten a lot of telemarketing calls recently for an expiring car warranty, when I don't have a car.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- PhilipI keep getting the same thing as well just about ever day. I called the # back and it said that if i wanted my # removed press 1. I did, it said thank you and then hung up. I guess we will see how it goes.

773-920-1796 Richard Zucker, Dwayne or Global Crossing - Chicago, IL
OK, I called this Global Crossing which is where one of the calls is coming from. Global Crossing is company that owns one of the 5 networks that operate the internet. Some of the calls are coming over their network so they were kind enough to do some investigating for me. Here's the jist of it:
- Scam companies (probably based overseas) purchase the internet space from Global Cross and 4 other similar companies.
- They then set up internet calling and can "mask" the caller ID number you see, which is why so many different names/numbers/locations appear.
- Many times the scammers are even the third or fourth buyers so its difficult to track them (Global Crossing tried but could not).
WE ALL NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
- Call the POLICE and file a report of harrassment. Let the know the above information and that the telephone number most likely is not correct as it is probably "masked".
- Call your cell phone/landline provider and give them a copy of the police report.
- Your phone provider will then track all calls. They also report this harrassment to the feds for further investigation.
Telephone harrassment is a crime but nothing will be done about it unless there are many complaints. Make no mistake, there is no Richard Zucker, Dwayne or Lance Keys calling you. These people take the names of innocent people and attach their phone numbers and addresses so that the caller ID looks like it comes from them. I'm calling the Police and my cellular company now. I hope everyone does the same....If not, look forward to getting these calls for the next three years like I have been!- Caller: ? car warranty

- erikaThey have stalked me using this number and also 909-650-9119, and 773-920-1796 just to name a few out of the hundred they've called from. You ask kindly to be taken off the list you get hung up on. You call back the numbers and they are busy or disconnected. I got through on this number and it said to press 1 to get off the list...I still get calls. Also one time I got a person on the phone and he assured me I would be taken off the list which has not happened. I'm calling my lawyer...I am so sick of this. They fill up my voice mailbox every week.

- KellieI, too, have been getting these calls almost everyday. My solution? I simply don't answer. My rule of thumb is: if it's outside my local area code, then it's junk & I don't answer it.

- bettybravoJust got it once this morning, very early, called back, requested to be taken off the list via an automated system... we will see how it goes from here!

- TinaI've been monitoring my mom's pay-as-you-go Virgin mobile phone because even after A YEAR of having the phone, she reported that it was ringing all the time with calls from people she didn't know to the point that she just turned the phone to silent. I've been experiencing what everyone else is reporting - stupid loud recordings with an option to supposedly remove your number, but if you talk to a real person ( with an accent inevitably), they just hang up on you. I'm going to keep track of these calls and if they continue from the various fake numbers, I will file a police report as suggested in a previous post!
