I don't want to be scam

i had a table posted on craigslist for sale.  I received a text from Sgt Hedger, telling me that the price was fine, that they will pay via paypal and include the shipping to have it shipped to them.  Signed it USA Military.  I have seen this before and know that its a scam.  Please be sure when you are selling items on Craigslist to keep it local, be careful and never give your personal information.  I responsed that I would perfer to sell it local and that was the last I heard from them.  BTW, paypal only protects you in cases involving an EBAY item, nothing else.  DONT BE SCAMED!

774-204-9066.  Same number.  I guess it can't speak english????  It would not agree to meet anywhere in boston?  Go figure? Another scammer?  I suggest 1000 text and emails a day until he or she gets a new phone!  Just a bit of code necessary from those of us who can write code but can't text fast?

PEOPLE.. It's a scam

I told "Kathy" my address was 100 Icicle Lane, Santa Claus' House, North Pole. Still so annoying, and I hope no one gets taken.  If you are interested in buying a large  outdoor lounge at full price less then ten minutes after I post it at 6 a.m. and open with "is it still available?," you are interested in separating me from my money.  Scammy, scummy jerk.

Listed a quad on CL, Kathy wanted to pay by Pay Pal ....what B/S I gave to info to my FBI son in law.

Got a text from "Kathy" at this same number with the same Paypal scam request.  Responded that I only deal locally and in cash.  

Just received a call this evening about a Craigslist post.  Fortunately I always check the Web for posting like this.  I responded to the text message that I googled the number and that I was on to them.  What do you know, no further correspondences.

I just received a call from the same number for a set of nightstands here in Washington State. Sellers beware!

same here - got a text within 10 min of posting table, Kathy wants it and will send $ via paypal and include shipping fee.  I just replied that i don't do shipping and only accept cash.  No telling how many people have fallen for this scam . . . preying on the elderly and uninformed I'm sure.

Same story...posted on CL...they wanted me to ship something to them (a very big item, mind you) and then they'd pay me via paypal

Just got call from Kathy who can only pay on pay pals and her shipper will pick it up. Had this type of transaction request on my last job so knew it's a scam.

I am also in WA state and I just received several texts from this scammer who stopped texting when I insisted on NOT using PayPal for a Bowflex treadclimber I have posted on Craigslist. I informed him/her that I would take a bank to bank wire transfer and I charge a $50 wire transfer fee. After no response, I followed up with "I'm assuming you are no longer interested in pursuing your little scam lol." They're out in full force, constantly coming up with new scams, and as we approach the holiday season it's only going to get worse. Beware! This one even sent me a link to PayPal, urging me to set up an account, stating how quick and easy it would be...smh

Typical Craigslist txt scammer, says they can't get to see your item in person due to job, but I'll pay you your asking price plus shipping once you send your PayPal info...

I got the same message about paying via paypal and including the shipping cost due to this individuals(Kathy)job.

A person just sent me a text on my Lexus for sale for 29,000 and said they were Kathy and that they would like to pay through PayPal. I then have been trying to locate this person and this is what I found and a ton more comments on other websites stating this individual is a Craigslist Scammer. Further more, I tried to call the number, and it had a VM that stated that that particular phone only accepts text messages(which is funny, considering it is coming up as a landline). I truly believe this person to be a scammer... DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THEM!

This person Kathy is a SCAMER...Tried to scam me over Cl post. She has Paypal and cant meet me.
