Who is this?

Who is calling from this number??? I asked if they even knew who they were calling and they hung up! I would like so information regarding who this is so I may call their corporate

Who is calling?  I am on the NCL.  I can't get anyone to answer to tell them to quit calling.  I have notified the District Attorney in Kansas.

Rec'ed phone call from this number, said bank card intrerest rate going up, asked if already rec'ed letter, if not i will be, wanted to know if i wanted to avoid this rate increase, tried to call back without any luck. I am also on NCL, how do these people keep getting these numbers ?

Calls 2-3 times per day, never leaves message. When you answer the phone wanted to know if I wanted to avoid rate increases on credit cards. Also on NCL keeps calling.

Said if I wanted the opportunity to reduce interest on my credit card to press  #9.  I just hung up !!

I took charge and asked to speak to his supervisor to remove me from thier calling list, he told me I would only speak to him. lol. I told him I knew my rights and to remove me from his calling list he hung up on me.

oh yeah the funniest part is I don't even have a credit card! what a scam!!!

I received a phone call about lowering my credit card interest (recorded message).  I have received similar phone calls before and have asked to be  put on their Do Not Call List (I am on the Do Not Call Registry).  I dialed 9 as instructed so I could once again request to put on the do not call list.  I asked the young woman who answered the phone for the name of the company.  She said the company name was Card Member Services.  I asked to be put on their do not call list.  She said she could not do this.  She said this was not a telemarketing call and she said she was representing my credit card company.  I asked and which credit card company that would be.   She said "all of them, Visa, Mastercard, Discover."  She said her company was providing a service by offering to lower interest rates.  I asked what the rates were lowered to and she said 3 to 4 percent.  I told her I did not want to be called and she once again told me she could not do this.  I asked to talk to her supervisor and she said, "he is in the bathroom taking a s**t."  I said I'd wait.  She also informed me the office was in Topeka, Ks and her name was Sharon.  Her supervisor did not want to talk with me.  I contacted my credit card company about the rudeness of this company which allegedly represented them, and of course the company does not represent them.  They advised never to give info. , which I had not done.

Judy McDiffet, Thank you for your story, It was very helpful. I live in Topeka, KS and I just got a phone call from this very same number at 12:16pm 1/3/11. I do not answer phone calls for which I do not recognize the phone number or that do not identify themselves when the recorder turns on. I can assure you that this call is probably not from Topeka, KS as our area code here starts with 785. I suppose they could be spoofing the phone number. Iill regardless, if this number comes up again I will quiz them as you did Judy.

I too received a call from these disturbing people!!!  It started out just like the call to Judy.  The difference was after I pushed #9, a man came on and asked if I wanted to lower my credit card interest rate.  I said on which card, and he replied "all of them".   (I thought this sounded fishy!!)  I asked him by how much.  He then said, "Can I ask you a question?"  I replied, depends on what it is.  He said, "Do you owe more than $4000.00?  I replied "no".  He said, "Welll that sucks!"   He continued on and said, too bad because you sound hot!!.................I hung up.  

These people should be shut down!!!!  What about all those old people who play into this and get SCAMMED!!!!!!

The last call I received from 775-000-8854 was on 01/12/11.  I am on the KS no call list.  I can't understand why something hasn't been done.  You can tell these are scams.  

Caller ID: Name Not Found

I too received a call from 775-000-8854 at 12:25pm on 1/19 - no message left.  ID says "Unknown".  I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize and I have reported them to the Do Not Call List Authorities.

robo call, said contacting all account holders about upcoming increase in cc interest rates.  said to press 9 to talk to a rep.  pressed 9, got a rep asking me if i wanted to take advantage of a lower interest rate on cc balances.  asked to be removed from their call list and she hung up.

seems like attorney generals office should be doing something about this scam.  tell me again why i am paying his salary???

"Cardmember Services" handles BP's billing, so if you have a BP card unfortunately being on the DNC list doesn't protect you from these clowns.

I got a call today from this same number I pushed 9 and it sounded like the guy that answered was closing a screen door and I heard a dog barking. he asked If I wanted to lower my credit card intrest rate. I said I do not have a credit card and he called me a bunch of names that I will not put on here and hung up on me. If I ever find out who this scam artist is I will personally kick his butt. I am on the ncl as well. but I dont think this is a telemarketer or anything I think this is someone pulling scamns to get your card number so he can shop. so basically he is a theif. so glad to see everyone on here is not giving out their information.

I got a call from this number on 2/3/11 at 1:38 pm. Same song and dance as above. Press 9 if you'd like to talk to someone about preventing your current card's rates from being raised. Once on, she asked how much credit card debt I had, I said none. She then asked how many cardit cards I had, I said two. Then she said, "How many [***] have you spear tongued lately?" so I hung up.

I don't know what the hell is going on here, but someone needs to stop this. Who would do this? BBB? FTC? Police?

Seems the DNC system is a paper tiger at best. The calls are annoying, but ya gotta love caller id.
