The caller stated that there was a 'complaint' filed against me and that to find out the nature of the 'complaint' I had to call another number and give them a case number which the caller then read. Or, I could push 9 and speak to a 'case specialist' right then. The caller ID said AmarGossa Val NV.

I have been getting the same voicemails, and they do not even have the correct name. So I called the number back and ask what company was calling me, and the woman said Beneficial something. I ask to be taken off their calling list and she said NO and that she will make sure her representatives will call me a hundred times a day and then hung up on me. When I call back, she answered saying "Beneficial Mediations." I tried again. She hung up. This continued on for a few more times til I said I can do this all day long and she said, "Me, too, because I get paid every time I answer the phone."

Kept getting this message for someone with the same last name as me about official document. I pressed 9 and got connected to a rude [***]. I told him I didn't know the person and he argued with me because I share the same last name. I have a common last name like Jones or Smith and I told him don't you know how common this name is? He said it's not common at all and since I have that last name I MUST be related to that person. I asked to be taken off their call list and he hung up on me.

I received a call today and the caller ID read "LATHROWLLS." Since I do not know anyone with that name I didn't answer. I just came here to get information about it.

I got the same call.  He even went on to mention a subpoena to take me to court and garnishment of my Social Security check.  I panicked but called the credit card company and was told there was nothing against my name.  The credit card company gave me other places to go.  I think this might be a scam.  He did succeed in frightening me.  If you have any follow-up that would be helpful, please advise.  Thank you and good luck.

I received a call from that number today.  Please see the first reply above.  Sine in June I got 'mixed' up with something like this, I was a little leery and called as many of the companies as I could.  All very nice and very helpful.  I feel better but not 100% okay.  The number above is for "lathrowlls" and if you go to that name and .com I think it might ease your mind.  I will certainly be watching all the messages here.

Supposedly stands for Lathrop Wells Nevada.  They call from other numbers too.  No idea where they are located.  Maybe Nevada.

It is clearly a debt scamming operation of some kind.  It might be coming from Nevada.  But nobody knows.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

I got one of those calls today as well from "lathrowlls". Any collections company worth its salt will contact you via mail. Further, they wont threaten you will legal action or being sued over the phone to scare you. I have received several calls this week.

On a side note this all began after I received a voice call that said..."if you wish to be placed on a do not call list press 1"  shortly after that I started getting these crazy collection calls. This call came from 201-312-6893.

PS.  Dont even answer the phone. There is also a scam out there to try and keep you on the line and back charge you when you call them back.

I received another of same type of call.  This caller left this on my CID on my phone:  Reno. NV  775 432 0974 and this call back no. on my phone:  888-7773-4738.    The 888 number said they were Beneficial Mediations Services.  When I returned the call from Reno and would give them any information they just said "Okay, we will see you in court."  Does anyone know anything about this company?  I feel they are connected to "lathrowlls".
