- nunya| 7 repliescaller Id says Unknown. If the idiots think they can block their id and that I will answer........not.....I was born, but not yesterday
- soon2Bgrammi| 3 repliesRec'd call from 775-412-4499. There's no company name & they don't bother leaving a message. This # just started calling within last couple days. I think they're selling my account from one place to another when the previous collection place was unsuccessful. I'm like the previous comment...I wasn't born yesterday.

- TomPaine| 1 replyMultiple calls with hang-ups when the answering machine comes on. Suspect it is First National Collection Bureau, as I've had multiple automated calls from them out of that area code.

- KK| 1 replyRepeated calls. They ask for someone who doesn't use this phone. Computer voice.
- fd| 1 replyRepeated calls using an automated voice message. I finally got through to a person. She was very rude. She rattled off part of a social security number and wanted me to verify that it was mine. It actually was not. She did say they were trying to collect a debt. She would not say what her company name was. I have not gotten anything in the mail.

- rooster| 1 replyCalls sell phone once a day,
message- starts out blank then says if you are this person to stay on the line. All my bills are up to date and it is my companies phone. None of my bills have that as a contact # - AKPI had a call from this #, nobody spoke and then they just hung up. Minutes later I had a call from (386) 738-4001 caller ID showing Deland, Fl, who funnelled me to an operator who hung up on me when I wouldn't give her my name and address for 'verification purposes'. I suspect the two numbers are connected and phishing for information.

- Rox replies to roosterI got a call from this number at least once a day...sometimes twice, within an hour of each other. I pick up the phone and not say anything. The last time they called I picked up and screamed at the top of my lungs, just for kicks. No one was probably on the other end, but it did make me feel better =)

- BLP| 1 replyCOLLECTOR 79: NOT EVERYTHING IS AS IT APPEARS, OH, & LEARN HOW TO SPELL SO YOU'LL AT LEAST LOOK CREDIBLE. Got my first call ever from this number ever: First National Collection. I've never heard of them, & never received anything. She said it was a collection for a Finger Hut account. I told her it's not a legitimate bill, & was about to explain that my ID was stolen years ago, & that this bill was part of that, but she cut me off. So I asked her to provide proof of the original bill. She said that was my responsibility, & the only way to get it now was to pull my credit report myself & if I hadn't done that w/in the 3 yr (WA) time limit I was SOL (proving she knows they're breaking the law). She ended by telling me to explain it to a judge. Nice.

- MOUNTAIN NURSE| 1 replyTo the idiot who wrote this: "Maybe you should pay ur bills and they would have to call you"
I get calls from these less than noble, bottom of the barrel, disrespectful, less than credible leeches due to a debt someone in my family had????? That person is my son and he just passed away. So, to you-you are just as ignorant as they are...mind your own business and get a life.- Caller: UNAVAILABLE

- American Gal| 1 replyI don't have a Fingerhut Account and never did. I believe it's AACC an illegal and unethical collection agency located in Michigan. They will hound you to death and it's on extremely old old accounts from 7 to 20 years old sometime 30 years ago. When I don't know who it is I'll answer phone but don't talk I place it by the TV speaker. If I'm not home it goes to voice mail.
If this is AACC, they'll use various names. Examples are Oxford Mangement, Bravia Comm LLC, they are sneaky and use illegal practices all the time. They are trying to collect an old ioold bill that I paid off several years ago. When I told them it was billed long long ago, they called me a lair. They also said that I have to keep all my old bills and never shred them. In Constuition of United States, it says I can shred all bills if over 7 years old. It never has been amended. So they are breaking the law.- Caller: Unkown
- BLP| 2 repliesAdditional Comment: Since the original call, they've called me incessantly. When I asked for proof, again, I was told I had to obtain it myself from my credit report, & if I hadn't w/in the 3 yr. (WA SOL) period it was my problem. They further claim they've sent me numerous letters when I've received nothing. As far as I know, American Gal is right, they're breaking numerous laws & know they are. The problem is they can report whatever they want to the credit reporting agencies & it becomes our responsibility to have it removed. It's nothing short of extortion. I really think we need a law requiring the reporting agencies (Equifax, etc.) to require proof that a bill is legitimate before it can be added to a credit report. Does anyone agree or have another solution?

- LJD replies to BLP| 1 replyLove reading these things, I don't feel so alone. In response to BLP stating about collectors can report whatever they want to the credit agencies, they absolutely cannot do that. The only ones that are allowed to report to credit bureaus are your creditors, and ONLY your creditors. Collectors just harrass people to collect debts because they get commissions on what they collect for creditors. The best thing to do is read up on the 'Fair Debt Collection Practices Act' for consumers, it has all the guidlines that collectors are SUPPOSE to follow, of which most do not. Then is also states all the proper steps consumers can take to get creditors off your back, and how to do it the right and moral way. Had a bad experience with some really nasty, demeaning, immoral, disrespectful, cowardly, threatening, name calling collectors in the past year and learned alot. Hope this helps anybody that I can help.
- DI've never done business with this company and they are calling all the freaking time. I finally answered today and they are wanting to see if I want their catalog. Pissed me off.

- JimI have recieved calls from this number repeatedly over the past year, the person they ask for is not known to me, I have explained this to them repeatedly. I refuse to pay someone elses bills. The only information they have right is the phone number, different address, different name, yet they still call 4 to 5 times a week. How many times do I have to explain to them, that I'm not the person they are looking for? I pay my bills, and have an excellent credit report.
- Zrob1This is for LJD....YOU ARE INCORRECT....maybe they are "required" to only put YOUR things on YOUR credit report but that DOES NOT always happen. I have a friend that all of his brothers and sisters first names start with the letter "J"....even his parents first names start with the letter "J" and all of their credit histories are mixed into each others......so.....he has his sisters house and car on his report...his sister has his credit cards on her report...his brothers car is on his other sisters report....etc!...it seems these *ssholes that have peoples very exsitance in their hands can't bother going by a social security number, instead they just go with the last name and first initial (I'm sure because it requires less thinking)....he does have an unusual last name....but not that unusual....isnt this why we have SSN's?......Unfoutunately some of these people are to f*cking lazy to do their job properly and we have to suffer their incompetence....they just want to show up and cash their paycheck (which I am quite sure is VERY SMALL)....considering the line of work they are in and the incompetence they are permitted to get away with......which is why they picked that line of work in the first place.....Lets just say the interview process is less than grueling....and one last thing...you will NEVER hear any of them admit that this is their line of work.....I WONDER WHY?
