No phone call, just a letter and a check for $4800.00 to help pay taxes on $485,000.00 I supposedly won through the International Sweepstake Organization. I'm supposed to call my agent Bob Steven's (that's how it's spelled) @1778-223-5703. Not supposed to do a thing until I talk to Bob.

I notified the New Orleans BBB about this scam.

I just received in the mail today 4/12/10, the exact same letter from GoldRain Financial Inc. of Canada stating that I had won a second prize of $485,000 in a sweepstakes contest.  What can we do relative to this scxam?

No call, but I recieved the same letter today. Postmarked in Canada but no return address

There was no return address on my letter also.
This is a scam.  Call the BBB but have not heard from them.  Who should we call next?  I am afraid somebody will be taken by these people.

See bottom of check. All checks have routing number followed by account number and check number. This check has numbers reversed and would be returned by a bank if tried to deposit. This scam artist is hoping people will call and that's how it all gets started. The bank and paper company are legit. I will call them both today to tell them their name are being used.

On 04/14/10 I received this BOGUS letter from a "supposed" Goldrain Financial stating I won a 2nd place price of $485,000.00.  In these tough economic times scam artists are targeting people of every background...  Please don't become a victim of this B.S.!

On 04/14/2010 I Recieved the same letter from Goldrain Financial stating I won a 2nd place prize of $485,000.In the letter there was a check for $4,800 to pay for the taxes for the winnings. The  letter goes on: to recieve my prize call Frank Robert @1778-858-3769 to startmy claim processing and to activate my check? this sounds fishy

Did you call the number is it a scam, how do you know and what can you do about it?  Did you try to cash the check?

I recieved the same letter freom Goldrain Financial stating I won 2nd place prize of $485,000.00.  In the letter was a check for $4,800.00 drawn on Keybank National Association(Can not locate the bank on line). To recieve my prize I am to call Bob Steven's 778-223-5703.  I suggess we all call these people  and take as much of their time as possible.

I have also received a letter stating that I have won 450,000 but I am supposed to contact a Jim Wright @ 1-778-898-0398.  My letter is from Index Financial Services in Canada and the check is from Talon Forest Group

My Mother got exactly the same thing in the mail. We're not taken it. We just want to know how to stop these people.

I received the exact same letter,and check,saying i'd won the same prize,also they call me about four to six times a day everyday,i have never answered because i didnt know the number until i got the letter and check in the mail two day's ago. Does anyone know what's up with this,have they checked it out to see if it's legit? I dont believe it is,and reading everything here im sure it's a big scam!!
