The problem, even if you block their phone number, they will use a different one in a couple of days and phone you again.  Two days ago they were using the the following phone number: Yesterday they used the following number:    971-208-9999  The day before:  503-457-1508  and  four days ago 971-297-9963.  Even if you block their telephone number, they will get a different one in a couple of days and harass people again.  They are crooks, criminals, sharks, name it.   BEWARE!!!!!!

Phoney political survey that switches to a phoney sales pitch claiming for answering their stupid a** questions they 'reward' you with a phoney 2 day Bahamas cruise which is actually a lame time share scam. These same moron's have also been sued by another company they claimed to be (to trick those they called into answering), there's also a class action lawsuit in process against them, and when they spoofed Caller ID so it said they were from Washington State they stupidly called WA States attorney General's office, they have a fake website set up with so many syntax errors on it as well as a phoney opt out form that serves the same scamming purpose as pressing a number or either answering or calling them back ... to confirm they have a live number and the calls will get worse, these same idiotic moron's also have been calling folks in Canada where any U.S. based poll/survey would be meaningless!
This is NOT a real survey at all (nothing like Gallup, Pew or Rasmussen or any other well known and established polling organization)
This  has NOTHING AT ALL to do with the elections, Obama or the national debt (or either Republican or Democratic Party)
It DOES use robo dialers to make these illegal and harassing calls
It DOES use Caller ID spoofing for malicious purposes
It claims to 'reward' you ... when no legit survey or poll does anything of the sort ... EVER!
It uses the 'survey' ruse to get around the DNC Registry so they can scam you with a phoney cruise that's actually a time share scam
They (like all the other scams) always ask for your credit card #  ... no real survey/poll ever does that
They also use other spoofed numbers that have been used by the home security system scam, the credit card interest rate lowering scam and several others.
But ... I, in advance, already blacklisted this number and countless others they use and may use so all these idiots get is the disconnected number message ...each time ... all numbers! I laugh more each time they try and end up more foolish and idiotic as well as probably more PO'd. I win they lose!
I can see if they try calling by checking the call list, this time ... sure enough this number in red letters appeared there shortly before I posted. Thak God, for services like Google Voice.
These idiots just don't seem to get it that by now we ALL know it's a scam. And if they do ... shows how childishly immature they are by their constant attempt at their harassing calls ... like spoiled rotten children who disn't get their way and end up throwing a temper tantrum!

Am in Toronto. This is a phishing fraud scam. They tell you it's a survey and then try to get your credit card info to bill you costs for a 'free" cruise. They call daily from a different number, so call blocking does not help. This is my 9th call, each from a new number. Seems they pick a new number daily.

They're calling frequently in Canada too, a "polling firm" -asking my opinion about the debt crisis. That's pretty broadcast ... different country ... different crises. They ask, in automated voice to vote with keystroke e.g. 1 for participate, 9 to withdraw name from list. I'm very suspicious of this methodology.

Just got the call.  A registered voice (mechanical message)  Iasked me to complete a survey, and I'd get a free cruise to the Bahamas. Sounds like a scam to get your credit card number.  Listened to the questions out of curiosity. Sounded very biased. Sort of like, "I you think your hard-earned taxes should be sqandered or pay increases for lazy politicians, press 1 now". BEWARE!!!

This number calls every day & no one is there be it recording or person. Now we don't answer but they still continue on. Pathetic

We have received calls from 778-785-6234 as well, same problem as the ones calling from 778-785-6230.  Just don't engage them in conversation.....everyone wants to make money, even at your own expense.  If you do not answer, they just keep calling back.  I answered and hung up and now they are using a different number.  We should use our own dudilligence on these matters, if you cannot call back, there is a problem, if a name is given...it could be fictitious, if they give you a corporate number and name, that is just to appear official and legitimate.

The "Do Not Call List" is a joke...   Has about the same success rate as gun control... But the most frustrating thing is; all the phone companies (in the U.S. & Canada) are fully aware of this, and they do NOTHING. The numbers that show up on your call display are phony. The real truth is; the phone companies  know EXACTLY who is using their lines and they know EXACTLY who is calling you, even though the call display shows a phony number.  If you want to block a number that calls you,  just pay Bell some money, and they WILL block the annoying number, BUT the [***] just call you from another phony number so your money is wasted. Pretty slick.. And it seems that the FCC in the U.S. and the CRTC in Canada are not that helpful either... Yes, they have prosecuted some of these guys, but only a small percentage.. The rules need to be tightened up and enforced dramatically.. Just my 2 cents worth..

Thanks everyone for the info.  It was so helpful!  I didn't answer when i didn't recognize the number.  It was on my cellphone too and I don't usually get this kind of call on that.

I live in Eastern Ontario, they just called. They have been calling almost every day for the last week.  I did not pick up.

Received a call from this number - was on another line so did not answer, they did not leave a message.
I read some of the other posts - I've blocked the number and hopefully it will work.  If I do happen to get a live person on the other end and they ask for me (or family member) by name, I just say NOPE, (he/she) is dead. and hang up.  So far, no repeat calls...
